IPL 2017 | Sunil Narine sets record for highest runs scored all in boundaries

Image

Sunil Narine set a new record for the highest runs scored all in boundaries in the IPL. The southpaw hit 42, with nine fours and a six, while opening the batting for Kolkata Knight Riders last night, and surpassed Sanath Jayasuriya’s 36, which had six fours and two sixes, recorded in 2008.
Narine has been quite a revelation for KKR with the bat in IPL-10. Opening the innings with Gautam Gambhir, the Trinidadian has been given the license to have a go at the opposition bowlers and has made the most of it.
Last night, against Gujarat Lions, Narine's onslaught lasted just 17 deliveries. However, his effort went in vain as KKR lost by four wickets.

Narine off to a flyer... yet again
This is turning out to be quite the IPL for Sunil Narine, more so with the bat than the ball. Everytime he has opened the innings, he has dented the confidence of the new ball bowlers. After Kings XI Punjab and Gujarat Lions, here it was RCB's turn to feel the Narine sting as he once again began the KKR innings in blazing fashion. In the first over , Narine hit three consecutive fours and a six, scoring 18 off him. Badree was immediately taken out of the attack, but Narine continued to be on song scoring back-to-back boundaries off his replacement Sreenath Aravind. Narine's assault seemed to have rattled the RCB unit, to an extent that even their skipper Virat Kohli misfielded. Gautam Gambhir's wicket at the other end kept Narine quiet for a while and it resulted in his wicket in the sixth over. Stuart Binny, after getting hit for a boundary, bowled one short to which Narine swivelled and pulled across straight down Yuzvendra Chahal's throat at deep square leg. He had done the job once again; KKR scored 65 inside the Powerplay.

Well WI have done what most predicted........lost!!!

Pretty tame batting effort in both innings but more-so the 2nd has let them down.

If by some miracle we able to reach Abt 230...Bishoo and Gabriel have to bat for an hour and a half with intent. It will be tough but necessary.
