Postby -Roach- » May 30th, 2013, 7:15 pm

Guys can anyone help me out... I have a CISCO WRT54GH Router and i cant access the router settings.... (192.168.1.1)... I reset the router by holding down the reset button for 30 seconds... When i enter the password: admin it doesnt work... It keeps asking for a username and password... Anyone can help me out here.. I urgently need to access this in order to fix my mom's magic jack.. Its stuck on 'Placing a call...' and no call going through and she needs to use this for some business purposes...

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

ok, but you tried this?

3. How can I reset the WRT54GH to factory defaults?

Press and hold the Reset button on the back panel of the WRT54GH for about five (5) seconds, then release.

Alternatively, you can use the web-based setup page. Follow the steps below:

Step 1:
On the web interface of the router, click on the Administration tab.

Step 2:
Click on Factory Defaults.

Step 3:
Click the Restore Factory Defaults button.

http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&login=1&app=search&vw=1&articleid=20529

if not, try this:

Hope it works.

^That helps to a certain point... Everything was done correctly but whenever i leave username blank and enter password: admin it still ask for a username/password... I tried username: admin / password: admin

No luck... My router looks like this...

try using the cd it came with, or see if the booklet has another username/password

I had one of these, you need to press and hold for 30 seconds, then it goes back to factory default. I must warn you though, this particular model does not last very long, mine only made a year.

the firmware on the ROM chip may have become corrupted or something.

Maybe you can flash a firmware from http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index

read first and do it right, because if you screw up in a flash you have to get a new router.

You are not alone I've been experiencing this on two separate connections, it's dropping, reconnecting constantly.

flow limiting download rates you will only get your advertised 'speed' when you do a speedtest..streaming is good to..but for actually downloading..no..daz only good for off peak times..why they advertising a service they cannot provide..pisses me off

What that dude said is right tho. I will be downgrading this 15mb connection as somehow it seems to be performing worse than my 5mb connection. My friend spoke to me a few days ago from a different area and he said he just tried the 15mb and same story, he gona downgrade. Its very disgusting.

And streaming for me, is basically nonexistent. Youtube may work ok enough. But any other vid.....even at 240p cant watch without sticking every 2 seconds. Some vids dont even load. And here I thought I woulda been oh so happy enjoying a 15mb connection.

Even the filestream site you hooked me up with stev, all i get is like 50kbs or less with ONE connection. My torrents on utorrent never see past 200kbs IF it ever gets that high which is super rare. Before with the 5mb connection I used to get at least my max speed around 600kbs.

Flow could HDMC, seriously, HDMC.

Doesn't that already have a router built in to give a wifi signal? It must suck as a router.

http://www.arrisi.com/support/documentation/user_guides/_docs/DG860_User_Guide_Standard1-4.pdf The modem's manual is a starter.

Anyway, I guess you have to go into the configuration settings 192.168.0.1 and then LAN settings>>NAT Mode>> set it to Bridged. Disable Wireless, disable DHCP. Oh yeah disconnect the coaxial cable first, so it's just the power cable and your CAT5 lan cable are plugged in.

Restart the modem by power cycling it (google what that is).

Connect back the coaxial cable now as well as the LAN cable to your pc. Check for internet on your computer.

Unplug the LAN cable from your modem to computer and connect computer to router with same cable.

Connect to your router to your pc via a LAN cable and set its default gateway as 10.0.0.1 in the config settings or any private ip address that is not the same as your modem. Enable DHCP on the router. Save settings and reboot router. Plug in router cable input to modem output. Should work now. Don't need to tell you how to set up your security and stuff right?

But really, I am kinda making this up. Google it if the above doesn't work. Time Warner uses the same modem.

192.168.0.1

Password is "password"

Look through settings to bridge router

Connect your router.

Done.

i have the 25 mb package and for some reason people are shocked when i tell them i have it for home use because their 1st assumption is that i have a business because they see 25mb as overkill just for home use so what i would like to know is how does the 15mb package run?
