You can be technically competent in your field, but organisations have unique cultures that are dominant and may clash with your own.

This is why a certain tier of positions might appear to be homogenous.

many businesses have a christian cross or hindu or muslim item hanging up
some even have their political leader picture framed
and others allegedly have a buck upstairs or throwing dead water

Parisot-Potter’s conflict of interest and forex concerns

ON June 15 last year, Allan Lane Ramkissoon, a pipefitter with Massy Energy Engineering Solutions Ltd, suffered severe burn injuries while conducting preparatory work for planned maintenance at NiQuan Energy’s gas-to-liquids plant in Pointe-a-Pierre.
Three days later, Ramkissoon eventually died while undergoing medical treatment in Colombia.
And to help ensure that Massy was able to walk away from that incident with their reputation intact, they hired a consultancy firm to help.

In her 13-page letter submitted to Massy’s chief executive officer Gervase Warner, Angelique Parisot-Potter, Massy’s former general counsel and executive vice president of business integrity, raised concerns about the manner in which this was done and the connection to the conglomerate’s chairman Robert Riley.

According to Parisot-Potter, on June 23 a decision was made to hire reputation management consultants in relation to the fatality experienced.

“Robert Riley directed the Gases portfolio to use a reputation management consultant with which he is affiliated. I raised the conflict and proposed that for good governance and to avoid any perception of a conflict of interest, an RFP (Request for Proposal) should be issued and a decision made by the team but excluding Robert Riley. Against my advice, which was ignored, the reputation management consultancy with which Robert Riley is affiliated was used at Robert’s directive and instruction, with no mention of the clear conflict and with no declaration as required (by Massy’s conflict of interest policy),” Parisot-Potter wrote.

“This mirrors a pattern of behaviour where there is poor governance, no due process, with, on many occasions, single-sourced decisions being made in relation to highly paid consultancies such as McKinsey, Egon Zehnder and Delphi. There is a culture of cronyism; a lack of due process; a lack of transparency as to why decisions are made and big (and smaller) contracts are awarded; who ‘gets to stay on’ post-60; who gets to be GC, as well as a culture of toxic positivity where the senior leadership is expected to agree and align on everything, speak the same ‘Delphi’ language, with no room for diversity of thought,” she stated.

Parisot-Potter said that when questions were asked about process, transparency, fairness and equity, they were seen as challenging the status quo, and “trying to cause harm to the ‘boys’ club’ or the Delphi Friday crew.”

“It is seen as stepping out of the ‘team’ environment; not being aligned or ‘happy’, not being supportive of the group think, not being an echo chamber,” she stated.

Parisot-Potter raised the issue with Massy’s executive director Vaughn Martin.

In an audio clip obtained by Express Business, Parisot-Potter suggested sending out an RFP for the services.

“I think we need to approach this with great structure and urgency so I am suggesting that what we do is we send an RFP to several providers that have been listed,” she said.

However, she was told that Riley was adamant about using the consultancy firm that he directed them to use.



“I do think, however, for transparency and good governance, we should at least have an RFP which we circulate, in addition to the parties that Robert has mentioned, because there could be a perception that there is a conflict there. So I do think that out of caution, transparency, and good governance, we do need to have an RFP that we circulate, not just to the two names that have been suggested by Robert, but (to) the names suggested by others,” she said.

The independent investigation into Massy, however, said there was no evidence to support Parisot-Potter’s allegation.

“The evidence does not establish a conflict of interest between the chairman of Massy and a reputational management consultant engaged by Massy in June 2023,” the executive summary stated.

“The evidence does not establish a pattern of behaviour where there is poor governance, no due process in relation to consultancies such as McKinsey, Egon Zehnder and Delphi,” it stated.

Why are dividends paid in US?

Apart from this concern about a conflict of interest, Parisot-Potter in her 13-page letter also highlighted the issue of Massy paying dividends in United States dollars.

In her letter, Parisot-Potter spoke of a specific meeting on September 6, 2023 when the issue was raised.

“At that meeting I felt as if I was being tolerated. Every comment I made, every question I asked and any feedback I gave was disregarded or unacknowledged—so much so that when I asked questions about the payment of dividends in USD, I felt I was not allowed to ask or receive answers to the questions I raised. Some of the questions to which I either received (a) vague or no response were: was there a policy that spoke to which shareholders could receive dividends in USD; whether all shareholders had a similar right to access their dividends in USD; how many shareholders received dividends in USD; where were these shareholders based; were there any shareholders based in Trinidad receiving USD dividends; and what was the value of payments in USD and whether we had approval to pay dividends in USD. Both Gervase (Warner) and Wendy (Kerry) gave me vague and incomplete answers and it is my belief that these questions I raised were the reason Gervase called the first meeting two days later,” she said.

Parisot-Potter said on September 26, Warner held a meeting with her which she said was aimed at forcing her out of the organisation.

“The evidence does not establish a pattern of behaviour where there is poor governance, no due process, including in relation the payment of dividends and consultancies such as McKinsey, Egon Zehnder and Delphi,” the investigation stated.

Parisot-Potter said that she felt things were being done to make the environment difficult for her and thereby force her to have to leave.

“The analysis highlights a consistent thread of subtle and overt implications challenging my leadership abilities, notwithstanding the consistent positive feedback captured in my 360-degree 12 reviews over the past eight years. This prolonged, veiled, and at times overtly aggressive behaviour has taken a toll on my well-being. Being compelled to exit at the zenith of my career is deeply concerning. The measures adopted and discussions unmistakably point to constructive dismissal. Such a premature departure jeopardises not only my professional reputation but also future career prospects and engagements,” she stated.

“My intent is to reach a fair and equitable agreement without tarnishing the company’s image or harming its stakeholders. Despite being forced to depart for reasons that aren’t grounded in technical competence, my allegiance to Massy remains steadfast and I care for the good people who work here and because I am the third largest executive shareholder after Vaughn Martin and Gervase. My objective is to draw attention to the series of actions that collectively constitute constructive dismissal and the challenges these pose in fulfilling my duties and the existential crisis that I now face,” she stated.

WHILE Massy Holdings in a statement issued on December 20 categorically denied that its leadership programme hosted by Delphi Sphere Consulting trained its employees to communicate with the dead or heal with white light, transcriptions from training sessions obtained by Express Business tell a different story.
Former Massy executive Angelique Parisot-Potter raised the allegations of “bizarre rituals” in the conglomerate’s leadership training, which she said were also a drain on foreign exchange.
Parisot-Potter attended the programme from January 16, 2022 to January 28, 2023, under the instruction of her boss, chief executive officer Gervase Warner.

Founder of Delphi Sphere Consulting Paul Dominguez stated during a training session that he was one of the top people in the energy field and one of the top five people in the world in the transformational field.

Delphi had been delivering the programme for over 17 years and had conducted as many as six programmes a year, he said.

Indira Dyal-Dominguez, who jointly runs Delphi Sphere Consulting, told attendees that the programme is about the mind and training it to be released.

According to a transcript of one of the programmes, in an apparent answer as to why she was attending the programme, Parisot-Potter said, “Gervase has been asking me to do this for six years, and I am now here. So, I think, um, I think, and, I trust my boss.”

She however expressed her frustration, saying, “And I am being forced to do it, you know...and there is no path for me to get out of it. Because if I go to Gervase, he’s just going to say, ‘You’re not trying too hard enough’. And they are going to say, ‘She’s not trying hard enough.’ You know, it’s not like I can win. I just cannot win. And it’s not even like I can go there and pretend, because how do I pretend with this sh**? How do I close my eyes and do what? And say what?”

After some back and forth with Dominguez, Parisot-Potter continued to express her frustration, saying, “This is craziness. My heart rate is like this because I’m just so angry and resentful that I have to sit listening to this sh** and he’s talking to me like I’m five. You know?”

Dominguez boasted that he had studied the mind for over three decades and he went on to talk about the vibrational tone and energies.

Dyal-Dominguez addressed the issue of “illusions” that keep the mind being untouchable, saying:

“Happenings are a series of events that span time that are designed to open up new doorways and directions so that your intentions and the company’s purpose can be realised. Happenings contain both karmic and journey energy.”

She recommended that Parisot-Potter declare being in the executive programme a “happening.”

Parisot-Potter responded, “Sure.”

Dominguez said that the way people operate in Massy is almost “totally from the mind”, but the organisation was “one of the few companies stepping out of that paradigm.”


“This may be the moment in time where you get to take back your life. Instead of the mind using your life. Because essentially, the mind is using your life when you’re operating from the mind. You are its puppet. Just remember, it has had control all the way up until nine months ago. And it’s interesting, it’s becoming more and more evident, especially at Massy, you know, how this thing, how this conversation is unfolding for the success of the business and the success of the people,” he said.

Dominguez said that there is a need to let go of logic and urged taking a deep breath while picturing white light.

“Take a deep breath. And imagine as you breathe in, there’s white light coming into your body. As you breathe into that spot, just imagine the light coming in. And the mind going quiet. And begin to allow yourself to experience the energy of what’s right there in that spot on the other side of that veil. It is distinctly different. It is the life force called Angelique,” he said.

“As you exhale, just release it all. As you inhale, just bring light into your body. Just imagine white light coming in. Now let this question resonate in the space, and listen for what arises. What is there for me to know in unfolding my journey of where I am now,” Dominguez said.

Dominguez then clarified that the training is not religious but spiritual.

“Trust that the universe is always guiding you on the path to fulfil your journey. This is the tough thing. If you look at the background of how the mind is organised, the mind doesn’t trust anything, including you. So if you could begin to trust that everything is unfolding your journey, that the universe, the world is working with you, and partnering with you, the only thing you have to do is communicate out into the open what you’re up to and after,” he said.

He said that participants can experience energy “beyond the physical form”.

“So when you’re ready, you can close your eyes. And just take a deep breath. And then focus on that spot off the bridge of your nose. And as you breathe into that spot, just relax. With each breath, let go of any mind concerns, anything the mind has to say. And experience the energy of you. As you breathe into that spot, with each breath, just experience that there is something there. Okay, the next one we’re going to do is we’re going to give you a chance to experience the energy of each person in the room. So you move to your right, and just experience the person to your right’s energy, and then we’re going to keep expanding it. Notice whatever you notice. You might notice colours, you might notice light. Whatever you notice, notice. But the key is to be able to hold the energy. Okay, so when you’re ready, close your eyes,” he said.

“Okay, so the next connection to the new person. So you’re going to connect to the person that has passed. So bring that person to mind. And you’re going to have an opportunity to just be in a dialogue with that, with that person. And just listen. So when you’re ready, close your eyes. Take a deep breath. And bring into the space the energy of that person. They’re not in their physical form anymore. But their energy can be brought as present as yours. As you breathe, just allow their energy to be in the space. Experience that you can actually experience ,the vibrational energy of that person. You might have memories that come up; that’s fine. And look and see for yourself if there’s any question that you have for them, or anything you’d like to know. You can ask that question, or anything you’d like to know. And just listen,” he said.

Dominguez said that Massy as an organisation has chosen to go in the direction of “self”.

“To operate from self. You know, there’s weekly calls we’re doing with some of the executive team that allows them to continue to keep stepping into the next happening and the next happening and the next happening. And it’s why they’ve invited y’all to be in it. They’ve now got board members that are part of this. So, you know, and they’re now realising the impact it has on the organisation and the impact they can have now as board members, as non-executive directors, allowing for the future to unfold, which is self,” he said.

But not a corporate boardroom, where the shareholder appointed board has a clearly defined role, oversight and accountability.

The homogeneity she is speaking about might be a threat to shareholders interests despite having a high net profit. Seems as thought the environment may be on a slippery slope.

Now I have to go check the board composition myself and go down a corporate governance rabbit hole.

APART from the “bizarre rituals” of speaking to the dead and self-healing with white light, the principals of the Massy executive leadership programme also claimed to be able to control the weather and cure cancer without medicine or doctors.


However, beyond these bold claims made against Delphi Sphere Consulting, in her 13-page letter November 12 to chief executive officer Gervase Warner, Massy’s former general counsel and executive vice president of business integrity Angelique Parisot-Potter outlined being verbally abused by one of the principals of the programme, Paul Dominguez.

And while the report from the independent investigation rubbished the “overwhelming majority” of Parisot-Potter’s allegations, it admitted this one was correct.

Parisot-Potter said that on January 12, 2022, she was instructed by Warner to attend the conglomerate’s executive leadership programme, which was being led by Delphi Sphere Consulting and its principals, Dominguez and his wife Indira Dyal-Dominguez.

Since entering the conglomerate in 2016, Parisot-Potter said she was repeatedly required to complete the training.

During the global Covid pandemic, Parisot-Potter said she eventually completed a mini-version of the programme but found it “lacking in substance.”

And according to her, when she suggested alternative programmes, like those from Harvard, Warner insisted that only the Delphi programme was acceptable for advancement within Massy.

“I attended the programme as instructed from 16 January 2022 to 28 January 2023, which included three trips to Florida, Paul and Indira’s home location, and one at the Trinidad Hilton,” Parisot-Potter wrote in her 13-page letter to Warner.

During that period Parisot-Potter said she questioned some of the claims being made by the programme’s presenters.

“Some statements I challenged: Paul and Indira repeatedly stated that they ‘control the weather’; that ‘Paul speaks with the voice of God’; that they ‘can cure cancer without medicine or doctors’; that they ‘are the top (karmic) energy consultants in the world’ and ‘that they can talk to the dead and that we can too with their training’.

I have been told repeatedly that in order to ‘pass’ this programme I must set aside logic and logical thinking, for which I can provide supporting audio,” she wrote.

Intimidating and belittling

On June 23, 2023, things came to a head.

On that day in the presence of Massy executives Anton Gopaulsingh and Ricky Maharaj, as well as Dyal-Dominguez, Parisot-Potter said she was verbally abused by Dominguez who shouted at her, telling her to leave the conference, board a plane and never return.

“The experience was demeaning, intimidating and belittling. Despite this, I continued my participation. The following morning, amidst symptoms later identified as Covid, Paul insisted I still engage via Zoom, which I consented to. Shortly after, Gervase called me, knowing I was unwell, and underscored the importance of my conference participation. When I relayed the prior day’s incident, Gervase advised me to navigate the situation with Paul. In my career, I’ve never been subjected to the verbal abuse I suffered from Paul on this and numerous other occasions. Rather than addressing the evident misconduct, Gervase shifted the responsibility to me to reconcile with Paul and told me to even leverage the incident for introspection. Such conduct is unequivocally unacceptable, without justification and unwarranted under any circumstances,” Parisot-Potter stated.

Parisot-Potter related that between July and October 2022, there were numerous conversations with Dominguez, Dyal-Dominguez and Warner.


“Often called immediately after the weekly calls with Paul and Indira and on very vague issues such as me not being vulnerable; not participating fully; how I speak; how I write; how I am. In each case every time I attempted to communicate my feelings and perspectives on the programme and how I felt, my experiences were repeatedly dismissed or countered by Gervase, Paul, David, Indira. My personal boundaries and my interpretation of my own experiences have not been respected or acknowledged. I have felt pressured, bullied and forced to reveal personal issues and when I did not, I was abused, told that I needed to be in Paul and Indira’s world and that I am not open or vulnerable enough,” she stated.

On November 9, 2022 Massy’s executive vice president of global expansion David O’ Brien requested a meeting with her which led to further verbal abuse, Parisot-Potter claimed.

“He mentioned a dinner with Paul and Indira, conveying collective sentiments, including Gervase’s, questioning my assimilation of the ‘Delphi’ programme. When I sought clarity on the programme’s objectives, David launched into a string of criticisms of me.

I asked him whether he felt it was right that only one programme, single-sourced, was the best for every single executive and leader and at that cost (US$45,000 not including four flights to Fort Myers, accommodation and food), and whether he believed that Paul and Indira could control the weather (as they repeatedly claimed) and that statements like these were the basis for this programme and that it appeared to me to be ‘magical thinking’,” she wrote.

“He replied that this was what the company wanted and that David himself can now also control the weather because he said he controls it.


He said that I should beg Paul and Indira to restart the programme with me and then he challenged my leadership capability based on his subjective ‘feelings’. He said I was merely a manager, because he didn’t ‘feel’ my leadership, and that if he didn’t ‘feel’ my leadership then that meant unequivocally that I was not a leader. He went on to say that I was the only one in the team who was not a ‘real’ leader; that Wendy Kerry would be the better General Counsel and that she was the General Counsel the company wanted; that Gervase could walk in at any time and ‘fire’ me and that I should just leave of my own accord. When I relayed this conversation to Gervase almost a year later on 8 September 2023, Gervase asked me what I had done to cause David O’Brien to say what he said. I told Gervase then that there could be no justification,” Parisot-Potter stated.

Parisot-Potter claimed a pattern of targeted harassment, instigated by O’Brien and Dominguez, commenced.

“It seems this was a concerted effort to cultivate an environment so untenable that I’d be pressured into (in)voluntary departure when it was clear that I was not accepting their magical thinking as gospel. I have my own God, the true God,” she stated.

“I believe that my actively doing my job and highlighting the lack of integrity and lack of due process for many decisions made and actions taken is the reason I am being constructively dismissed. I believe this decision to remove me is also based on my objections and challenges to the Delphi Programme and the queries I made on many aspects of the challenges to my Christian faith such as having to ‘talk to dead people’. Now, for asking questions, I am being fired,” Parisot-Potter stated.

No danger to Massy operations

While the Massy report of the probe said that there was evidence of Paul Dominguez’s verbal abuse, there was no evidence to support the claims against O’Brien.

“The evidence does not establish that Mrs Parisot-Potter was intimidated, was the subject of bullying by David O’Brien, was harassed, retaliated or discriminated against, or victimised. The evidence establishes that Mrs Parisot-Potter was verbally abused by Paul Dominguez, one of the presenters of the Delphi programme, during the first conference of the programme in 2022 and that Mrs Parisot-Potter justifiably felt humiliated by such abuse. Save as aforesaid, the evidence does not establish that Mrs Parisot-Potter was abused and humiliated,” the executive summary of the Massy report stated.

“The evidence does not establish that the Delphi programme, whether by its contents or by its presenters, poses any danger to the operations of Massy. The evidence establishes that Massy executives are free to select, at Massy’s expense, executive training programmes of their choice. The Delphi programme has been one of the executive training programmes that Massy executives have been selecting since 2009. The evidence establishes varied experiences and different assessments of the Delphi programme by Massy executives. Some Massy executives have felt the programme to be immensely helpful. Others, including Mrs Parisot-Potter, have not. The evidence does not establish a good reason for Massy to interfere with its executives’ selection of the Delphi programme as their programme of choice for executive training,” it stated.

Massy did not address the claims of “bizarre rituals” being conducted by Delphi Sphere in the executive summary of the report.

However, on December 19, 2023 , the day after Parisot-Potter made those allegations at Massy’s 100th annual general meeting, the conglomerate issued a statement categorically denying using the programme to train people to communicate with the dead or heal with “white light”.

Dominguez has not responded to requests from Express Business for comments about the claims made by Parisot-Potter.
