A sprinkle of goodies in this budget maybe but plenty next year.

Rowley realize that long time since Manning days. Goodies for the most part are not for the base, they are for the swing voters and the marginals.

A lil sprucing like painting, drain cleaning and some road patchwork would be enough to keep the base in line. The lil crumbs they get, they will thank the lord for small mercies and great is the pnm.

You do know Carnival is used to wash money.
They are washing money, has been for years. They follow Brazil operations where the mob controls the bands.

pnm understands that if you giving people thing steady, it creates expectation, which creates dependence, which in turn creates resentment.

steady resources -> expectation -> dependence -> resentment

you hadda give whatever intermittently. so when people do get, they are thankful. when they don't get, they are hopeful.

(never mind is we own oil and gas rents/taxpayer money that they sharing)

so it on today...

my wish list:

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"
-increase in minimum wage
-increase in taxes on the wealthy

if they raise NIS "contributions" (fees) on the most poor while increasing retirement age for the poor, I will cuss. I will cuss real stink right here and Duane would have to ban me

1. Increase in Online purchase tax
2. Increase in PAYE for high income earners (1m and above)

The later makes no sense as it's probably less than a 1000 individuals getting actually salaries over 1M. Most people who making that are getting paid through business or shares and are taxed differently.

Money is not the solution.

if he must tax cars tax ICE cars, but use that money to keep hybrids & EVs untaxed. killing 2 birds with 1 stone- more revenue and reducing CO2.

Dr Eric Williams once insulted his entire party by saying "if PNM put up a crapaud in a balisier tie, allyuh would vote for it.” He knows a large portion of his party are mindless sheep.
