what exactly wrong with recaps? Every fleet in the world runs on recaps, as do commercial airliners...commercial tyres are actually designed to be recapped

A recap has no metal bands, it's 100% rubber
Look at truck tyre debris on the highway carefully, and you will see metal strands
Commercial tyres are designed to be recapped, as are commercial airline tyres
