yuh need a separate tank with rainwater collection for emergency
you can fill a 400gal very easily off a small house roof with one good shower.

I have this and highly recommend it. Keep tank locked off from regular supply until emergencies like this this.

Pugboy is correct on this.

Assuming that your home is 30x40 feet and you are using one side of the roof (30'x20') to collect rain water, it only takes about 1 inch of rain to fill the tank.

Trinidad averages about 4 inches of rain per month during the rainy season.

if you live in an area which has scheduled lockoff/rerouting eg maraval this is good to have

maraval has scheduled lockoffs every another day or so, but most ppl have at least 1000gal tanks so dont really see the days off
until there is a disruption of a couple days or if their toilets are leaking or inbound oneway valve leaking back water to wasa

Two flatbeds, a few iron sheets, some Brillo pads and Squeeze to scrub the iron sheets  or a good pressure washer, a fabricator/welder, a little Reverse Osmosis and Membrane Separation techniques to desalinate and sanitize and that's it. Let's make some easy money and make some residents happy..it's a win-win. Just don't tell WASA, but it's not like they'll miss the seawater.

Op, is the water for drinking?
Have you considered damming water and building a treatment system?

No need for all that. There are much simpler systems that are less energy intensive and are being used years now.

Bumping this thread for more info.

No water in arima going on 6 days now. Called WASA for a truck supply and they basically said 3-5 days and no guarantee of that either.
