IIRC, he allegedly threatened to kill the children. That is why she dropped the case, initially. This time the police are being more pro-active.

MILLIONAIRE auto car dealer Sheron Sukhdeo has been refused bail and will spend the night in jail.

The order was made when he appeared in court charged with breaching a protection order.

Sukhdeo, 28 of Caroni Savannah Road, Chaguanas was arrested on Tuesday and remained in police custody until he was charged this afternoon.

He appeared before magistrate Wendy Dougdeen-Bally and said he was not guilty of the charge which was laid by constable Joseph of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department.

Defence attorney Taradath Singh asked for reasonable bail for his client. He told the court that Sukhdeo was a proprietor for 15 years. He also said that he was married for the same period. He said Sukhdeo was arrested at his home. The magistrate asked for the businessman's passport be produced. This is expected to be done on Thursday when Sukhdeo is brought to court.

In February 2016, Sukhdeo, the managing director of Sheron's Auto and Real Estate, was charged with assault against his wife and the mother of his two children, Rachael Sukhdeo. The matter was however dismissed eight months later when she told the court she not want to continue the case.

On Sunday police officers went to Sukhdeo's home after there was a report of a disturbance at the mansion. After interviewing his wife, Sukhdeo was taken into custody.

In February 2017, Sukhdeo was charged with receiving stolen vehicles and uttering a false document. He is out on bail on those charges.
