Just obey the law and you should have No problem.
Driving WITHOUT insurance should now be a $ 30,000.00 FINE though!

Speed limit should raise to 120kmph... I would prefer 140... But that's me.

License fine should be extended to include insurance, but applicable only if unable to to produce within 24hrs. At the NEAREST police station.

Defective lights... Better thing would be for police to move round with spares for brakes and indicators.

Is not protect and charge, its protect and serve.

They should charge people for unprojected HID's and those who choose to drive with only fog lights on.

Sounds like the wrong body headlight fluid he used.

Sunil did it in his slyphy and he had to use DRL's and fogs to drive in the night afterwards.

Meem mind they use it onno, is the fact that it not designed for driving that bothers me.
Raj's driving with lights not designed for such dont have proper visibility in front the vehicle and are a hazard to other people / pedestrians / animals etc.

Please elaborate. How do they pose a hazard to other people, pedestrians and animals in a way that regular headlights do not.

Also, everyone is different. Isn't it possible that one person might be more comfortable riding with their car being lit up from lower down? Personally, in a heavy rain at night on a road without street lights (north coast road) I find it a lot easier to see if I use fog lights instead of normal headlights. I also find it a lot less distracting if oncoming cars do the same.

Also, on road that are properly lit up, headlights make almost no difference so using fogs instead of headlights wouldn't make that much of a difference either.

Fogs, if used the way they should, only show a few feet in front the vehicle. You cannot see far ahead to see road signs, pot holes, humps, people, objects on the road etc and may run into them or run off the road trying to avoid hitting them.

Fogs are yellow and low making the car visible in low lighting conditions when the use of headlights aren't warranted like during fog, rain and I use them in narrow back roads on evenings and early mornings so other vehicles will see mine easier and not take the whole road or take corners on my side.

Headlights aimed at the road do not bother on coming drivers.

^^^ Regardless of what lights you have on, if you blinding oncoming traffic then it becomes a hazard and if you blinding oncoming traffic that much then you should only drive in the daytime. Bess they start giving out a "automatic/daytime license"

What the hell are you talking about?

Any lights improperly focused or fitted with bulbs allowing them to function in a manner they shouldn't can bother other drivers.

I am talking about having them fitted with proper bulbs and properly focused and not being used. Why in gods name will one opt to drive with lights that show three feet in front them as opposed to a pair that shows thirty?

Understand that if your fogs not illuminating road properly use your low beam as well. As said fogs is not for driving but should be a law against it. Trinidadians need some common sense To know what to do and what not to do .

What part of fog light you dont understand? Its not a driving light :|

You supposed to use your low beam to illuminate the road when it needs illuminating, not the fog lights. Your fog lights are to make your vehicle more visible to other drivers in low lighting conditions. Your headlights are to allow you to see in the dark.

There is a law against it.

On many well lit roads your headlights make no difference. The road is already properly illuminated by the street lights. Your headlights only serve to notify oncoming traffic of your presence in that situation. A purpose that fog lights alone achieve. Also, if fog lights are not meant for driving, then what are they meant for? (seeing that everything in the car is designed with driving in mind)

By the way, I not advocating driving with headlights alone eh. I just want to know if there is any reasoning behind the hatred of fog lights.

This is incorrect. The rear fog lights are for visibility so that you don't have to use your hazards. If you use your hazards you are unable to use turn signals in poor visibility situations. The fog lights are meant to illuminate ahead of you in fog because your regular headlights would reflect off of the fog in front of you and actually make visibility poorer. The same exact thing happens in heavy rain during the night (poor visibility with the air full of particles that can reflect light back to the driver).

Because of the lower position of the fog light, the light that reflects back to the driver would be reflecting from much further ahead which means you can see further and when the light reflects back onto you it is less direct and intense.
