Look at this... The Coast Guard blocking the Public Road for their friends to park whenever they decide to reach into POS.

This is on Pembroke Street, just after 5am!

Image

The four cars I pointed out also had cones Blocking those parking spaces!
Five cones were placed (where those 4 cars are) along with illegally used Police Signs saying "Reserved Parking", when these cars arrived - Coast Guards (in blue uniform) ran out and moved the blockages for them...

This picture below shows where the Coast Guard has a large enough Car Park directly opposite their building (specifically for them) that they use for their own vehicles, but they assume that their uniform has some kind of power to block the public road for whomever they please!

So wreck the bloody cones! Pull up to the first one and slowly move forward and push them out of the way.
All of this type of "authority" assumed by these security branches must be legally approved.

That car park is actually not specifically for them.

Our Tax Money is paying those Coastin Guards to "Guard" those cones!
Dare to even come close to one?
A few uniformed men would run out of the building and monitor you with threatening stares.

That car park is actually not specifically for them.

Yet 99% of it is filled with the Coast Guard's Cars!
Can't get a video or pic to prove that though, you'll just have to take my word for it.
These fellas deal with things that the average man on the street will never believe - not willing to find out how they'd react to someone gathering evidence on them.

Decided to drive down Independence Square this morning into PoS as opposed to Wrightson Road just to change things up. Apart from the large amount of pot holes overall with a very, very, very bad piece west bound by the Cathedral when did they start allowing parking on Ind Sq?
From RBL/Nicholas Tower west bound both sides had cars parked with no drivers in the cars. OFC it was causing traffic as they took up the space the ppl who wanna filter north on Abercromby and Edward Streets have to stick to the middle lane.

Pretty damning when cars are blocking up roads and there is a massive near empty public carpark nearby (Ansa's).

You should try getting to the gov't parkade from edward street.................

Had to visit pos POS yesterday. Made the mistake of turning onto Edward street from wrightson road, around lunchtime. Stuck in traffic for 30 mins from CBTT to the parkade.. that's what, a few hundred yards? Parked cars lined on both sides of Edward street.

If we have so many parkades in pos POS now, why do we even have street parking?

The whole of downtown pos POS should be cobblestoned for pedestrians to walk, imo.
Like the Boulevards in Margarita iirc. (was a child last time I went)

Some one posted a list of things to free up traffic in Trinidad (I believe on some FB page called Roadwatch TT) a few weeks ago. The cessation of road parking in PoS was one of the suggestions.
Makes sense.

If the govtment smart they will introduce parking meters and smartphone app, place ticket on the dash or by licence plate tru the app, make more jobs for parking enforcement ,clerly seen with the cruise ship applicants yesterday alot of youg adults need jobs, sure they will make more revenue with metered parking than wreckers.

the reker man from right behind a megastore in san juan area. so you deal with that if you see fit or leave your dash cam recording and see how swift they steal your car with the wrecker and take them to court as the poleese suppose to come out an look for the driver not take pictures as they do in sando area before they steal your vehicle.
