Seems Bassant should be blamed cause he did the investigative report. CNN should be blamed for the gassing of the civilians in Syria since they broke the story.

Can't say I'd be an advocate for this, killing the messenger for doing his job would be pointless and wasteful.

Interrogate is a strong word. Nothing legally wrong with them asking him a few questions, however as a journalist he has the right to not reveal his sources. IMO that would be as selfish & stupid practice in this instance. If he is questioned, the responsible patriotic morally forward thing to do would be to divulge info on the holders and suppliers of said contraband, as well as their means of entry into the island. He may not want to due to fear for his life or the lives of his loved ones. If the police arrest anyone he interviewed he will be the first one they look at as the cause of their arrest.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out, if at all.

The T&T Government going to organise an all-expense paid life somewhere nice that these people won't find him? The man now said that the police, coast guard etc involved.

Only way I can see the drug trade being stopped is to hire an independent body to patrol the waters, search fishing vessels etc etc. However, that would be admitting the coast guard is corrupt and can't get the job done (even if everyone knows it already). Plus, only so much you can do to stop a multi-billion dollar industry before the industry decides to deal with you.

Well I disagree.

The major reason the drugs are imported is for export.
So make it hard to leave the island by locking down the exit points

We could lock down the ports and make it difficult for drugs to leave the country through a formal port.
That would make it pointless to bring it in.

This is easily achievable in a cost effective manner.
With existing technology locally available.

That said the political directorate, on both sides have been bought and paid for-so what we have today will remain in place-cuz as you said it makes money for those in power.

If you need to ask why then you clearly should go back to school.

At what point does making a dollar stop. And doing the right thing start.?

The man know that those guns going to be used to kill people.
But he enjoying writing a 3 part story.
And idiots buying papers and calling their friends and posting it on Facebook.

Any lawyers in here can shed any light on if he can be charged with withholding information from police with the knowledge of knowing a crime is/will be committed ?

So he should do the right thing and get killed for it right?

And why do persons believe that the security forces do not know about this? It isn't new information, in fact a drop in the bucket, if what is fully known is released people would panic.

To give you a hint, you would NEVER EVER drive along the EMR, PBR or Beetham H/way ever again.

Just reading the comments. Now am not no expert. I dont like guns. What I do know is that what was shown on this outgunned thing is gangsters with equal firepower. However, they maybe some criminals who are better prepared. A couple of years ago some individuals know to my family were held with grenades. So it goes to show not cuz they show an AR15 means thats all they have.
