The reminder benefits the believers, and the opposite for it's opposite.
How many have slandered these two youths' names? Were there any witnesses?
If it's true that some planned or impulsive activity took place, then that's backbiting (like eating the flesh of your dead brother). What happened is between them and their Lord.
If it's false, then it's slander and they would benefit from this evil action of the slanderers.
