yup, but with much larger exhausts, body kit right around and my wheels are tucked in, they aren't projected out of the body.

Some tuck up inside the fender upon compression.

OR

Some have stiffer springs so the wheels may come close but never actually touch (or the strut bottoms out, which ever comes first).

OR

Some simply rub until the fender/tyre/chassis makes way.

I'm by no way affiliated with GF but what are people actually finding issue with?

Practicallity or not being accepted by a group that some see as being cool?

People have been "stanced" for years now, way before it became popular locally or even on the interwebz.

if you do it proper the fender and wheels wont touch

tire size is just right to clear the fender, while rim has the correct width/offset to get you enough poke to give you that aggressive look

my tires never touch the fender, cant say the same for the front bumper

Thanks for clearing it up. saw one stance man cruising on the highway a day holding back traffic as the wheels looked like it will touch the fender. His $$$, his car, how he choose to spend it is his business yes.

WRT the whole "stance" thing, different men like different thing yes, to each his own.

Edit, saw devrat car in person leaving the garage, its smexi. :P

You spoke of standards....is stance just about fitterment or the whole look of the car seeing that all you do is park hard?
I am seeing cars with no bumper and what looks like rivets in the door so am guessing its just about fitterment.
If am wrong please let me know as i am barred from comming to a stance event as my car 08 accord is sitting on 2s dripping chrome... 8-)

Please dont take my words out of context i REALLY love some of the cars at your event like that white accord daaaaam.....

p.s ...s13,s14...who gives a fack....sh$t looks good...

:) this is the spirit we like... because even when we see a CLEAN bling down car done right, we get *weak* ...

it's about appreciation for things done right on either sides of the table...

with respect to standards... no one said our standards were high,

we just TRY OUR BEST in any way possible to filter the

b)Box on top of Hood - pong out Crowd
c) Dancing on top of Car Crowd
d) Neon lights, Strobes & Spinners Crowd
e) My crew badder than your crew Crowd

...ah ole rusty Datsun 1600, with some badass 15s with correct offsets and width... would gladly be accepted into our meets.

hopefully one day the culture would eventually evolve and we could stop explaining what our meets are about...

cool.....keep doing what you do,i would really like to see this movement grow as i just love to see and hear ppl talk of their cars weather it be candy paint, stance, dex or a bone stock elantra out the showroom.
At the end of the day we all LOVE our cars......after wife and life all men have is our cars....park that mutha facka haaaard.....

[QUOTED FROM A FACEBOOK POST]

https://www.facebook.com/GarageFreshTrinidad

Some Stance Education... from what little we may know:

"We try our best for this page to NOT be strictly "hellaflush" oriented, even though you may see a few VIP or even drift cars on our page, with huge dish and extreme negative camber... we prefer most times to post and share vehicles done 'proper' with a streetable "stance."
Since we know 'that word' is highly controversial amongst today's eu...ro & jdm enthusiasts, and most times misunderstood... we prefer to post more aggressive vehicles, with mean low offset fitments... track styled aero & most importantly, performance engineered... walking a narrow line between what we have emerged from;
the fitment scene, and the japanese modified car scene."

- GarageFresh

Having said that... we first saw the word "stance" pop up in a super street magazine in 2004, it was used to describe; "the staggered setup and body kit really gave this 240SX a mean, wide stance". Since then, that word became popular over the years until 2008 when "stance" became the term used for fitting low offset wheels on any vehicle, it would be known as the end result.
So in reality, people have been "stancing" cars for centuries both in Europe & Japan... it was common practice in those days to achieve a wider track. High offset wheels became popular in the mid 90's as wheel diameters started increasing, and everyone wanted tuck. For this past decade it has been the norm to have your wheels inside the fenders. Today we see up to 30" wheels available on the market, which is basically dominated by the bling and hip-hop community. most of these "dub" wheels are opted for in chrome finishes... to achieve the 'dripping' look.

On the contrary... most of these "stanced" cars today are performance driven, other cars like the Hondas etc... just do it for the fad and the look. RWD and AWD sports cars still keep some level of practicality because of their engines, others just don't care and go all out for the look, hence the term "form > function".

The stretched tyres and negative camber arent really ingredients of 'stance' but rather outcomes... most times if not all the time when one is trying to achieve a really low ride height and still trying to run diameters between 18" - 20" etc... because of the size of the wheel and suspension geometry, the negative camber comes in almost automatically, the stretched tires however is improvised in dealing with tight clearance issues, with fender gap and suspension clearance.

Every car shares a different role and heritage, so each car falls into it's own category and genre of customization. One can 'try' to be different and step out of the box... but's there's generally a right & a wrong way to do everything. most people are inspired by their own creativity and personality in their execution. It has nothing to do with price tags, it's all about taste.

There are a variety of ways to achieve a proper or aggressive "stance".... however you choose to do it, there is only one factor which makes or breaks it; wheel offset & width...
From +25 ET and under to 9" wide and over, can set you into entry level stance. As you start playing with those figures, you can achieve a really aggressive setup. most times coilovers are used or in other cases such as VIP... air ride can be improvised.
The air ride gives you adjustment at your finger tips, while coilovers need to be cranked from the outside.

Everything deals with precise measurements and calculations, and it all varies according to the type of vehicle being used and purpose of the said vehicle. From there you can start playing around with your setups & figures... remember the intention is to have the vehicle sit wide and aggressive, however low you want it is totally up to you.
Filling the wheel wells is also integral in your execution, so remember larger & wider the wheel is, the less tire wall you use... dropping in diameter size or not lowering the vehicle too much can still allow you to use beefier tires...
It all depends on the look you want, whether it be proper, flush, hellaflush, slammed... whatever, it's all in the maths.
Simple things like spacers and wider tires can hit you up with a nice stance. Body kits and extensions can assist in achieving a lower look.

So however you may perceive this controversial term; "Stance"... it all spells 2 words:
Wide & Aggressive, and it all deals with fitment.

We can also be wrong, but this is this basis of our page and our love for fixing up cars.
