two things: money, and approvals from state regulatory bodies( eeef u want to do it legally )

if u do find a piece of land and still have meeeellliiioonnsss, u then have to get town and country and EMA to give clearances. other bodies too, but these i know would be the two main ones connected to the USAGE of the land. in a project as big as this, real politics would get involved.

why i make reference to legality, is because some one may get a piece of ole land sumwhere and by god's graces get town and country to make it able to put up a structure on a portion. the structure is built to get the current and water. then the big structure is built on all the land, and u have ting goin on.

most regulatory bodies in trinidad are toothless, so many murderous activities can be gotten away with.

sMASH wrote:chronology of the mechanism, or timeline

-month later get tru
-attend meetings for 75% of the year.
(agm is in july/august, and nominees for management must be at least 1 year ordinary, financial, 75% attendance )
-2013 nominees for management position cannot come from new pool so nominees would be from old set.
-2014 new members can POSSIBLY meet the criteria for management nomineeship, and become managers.
- presidential elections go on from the pool of persons already fulfilling two terms on the management. ali or croney gets the president again.
-2016 presidential elections go on with no managers meeting the two term criteria, so president is the incumbent.
-2018 managers meet the two term(4 year) criteria for presidential nomineeship and new president is elected.

so, for any new president to be elected before 2018 even by snap elections, the constitution needs to allow that a potential president does not need 2 terms as a manager and the term does not need to be 2 years.

i think they can be out businessed and shown up as mad people and pressured to release the NGB status in less time than that.

so you are saying here that NOBODY who currently is a qualified TTASA member is suitable or willing to take on the necessary challenge of resolving this debacle...???
.
Link was the Vice President of TTASA up till July 2012, he formed a slate of potential executive members who have been in TTASA for some time and they filed nominations for the AGM. Link also filed a Vote of No Confidence against the current executive, however the vote was stopped by the Board of Trustees if I understand correctly.

The Trustees ruled that the motion of no-confidence should be presented at the AGM since the constitutional provision regarding same arises under the provisions governing the AGM.
HOWEVER, vishnu mangalsingh ( collusion with ali & co) officiously altered the standard proceedings of the AGM & declared that "to save time, incoming/outgoing correspondences will not be read.." This was their strategy to prevent the motion of no-confidence from being tabled & voted on by members present.

In order for someone to be able to vote or run for the executive at the AGM they need to have attended 75% of the monthly meetings for a calendar year.

to vote at a SGM or AGM. This does not apply to any other membership participation
In order to run for President, you need to have served on the Management for at least 2 terms (4 years).

CORRECT

You can join now and have your say in the next 2 years.

INCORRECT...members have full say immediately they are confirmed. If you are looking at Management portfolio, you must be a member, attend meetings to be aware of what's happening in the Association & be able to function effectively on the board.
.
please don't read assumptions into the provisions of the Constitution...like this last here....and the document is available for all to read (courtesy wagonrunner)...I cannot speak to the understanding aspect judging from some of the comments made regarding same (autosport??). You all need to get off your various personal horses & understand what needs to be DEMOCRATICALLY DONE TO SOLVE THIS SITUATION.

Oh well looks like i will be moving to Barbados....fell in love with that country from the first time i went.

Here is a thought guys, lets form a NEW ORGANISATION as an alternative to TTASA. It so simple.
You know what we want, we want a white man from europe to come down and tell us what we need to do, then everybody will say, "hey thats a mighty fine idea laddy" and then everyone will jump on the bandwagon.

Gosh some of you are so young in this business.

Exactly that was done back in 1995.

But we just did not cater for the likes of this controlling body!

Creating a new body is pointless. It was tried before.
Neither the Ministry of Sport nor FIA will move the NGB and ASN status to another body just so.

We had a circuit racing track up till 2006.

ttasa has the controlling say as the NGB as appointed by the MSYA. hardly any other auto sport group supports them. the MSYA is willing to help develop the autosport industry by the granting of lands but they require that all autosport bodies come together and cooperate so that nobody can say that the government leave out any body and treating any particular group unfairly. which is totally understandable and respectable.

ttasa has set up the MSGC where all the autosport clubs can join and have more or less equal say or representation. but this level is withing the org structure of ttasa and reports to the ttasa management. so all other bodies have to be under the control of ttasa and ttasa management would be the alpha and omega of auto sport in trinidad and tobago

this not ideal because ttasa is just a club like any other so should not enjoy such totalitarian control compared to. also, more obviously, the competency and vision of ttasa as a vehicle to move tnt autosport forward has been on show for every event that they hold, so we see that they do not have the right 'stuff' to take on that role.

and, the most fair and accountable thing is that the MSGC board be the ultimate authority in tnt auto sport any way, even if ttasa was a capable body.

as an outsider my self, this is my understanding of the situation, from what countless others have explained over the years in numerous threads.

some people want every body to join ttasa to vote in new people who would implement new policies to have the organization of ttasa to run fairly.
some bodies cannot support ttasa based on principle, and i share that same principle.

so we have an impass.

if every body join ttasa and the government decide to give land and funds for a track, u might end up with money lost no development and no track due to mismanagement. if u have a track, it would be mismanaged and no development. this way, we still have no track, but people still have their principles (which is the most important thing about any body) and no money is wasted.

Yeah and what development if any, was done on the track in the 40years that it was being used?
Im fairly young but i going to wallers since i was a toddler in the late 80's and it looked the same till 2006....except for the wall and light post they put up quick quick.....forward never backwards ever should be our motto.

not true

TTASA created the motorsport general council which is made of their affiliates such as TTUNDRA, Horizon MotorSport, TTNSA, TTRA, 2 bike clubs, V8 Boys etc

Many clubs are affiliated to TTASA. Though none of those clubs have had any championship motorsport events of their own to date, some have never had a racing event of their own at all.

TTRA have been having fun rallies / treasure hunt type navigational rallies for quite some time now and TTNSA has had one navigational rally - though I believe these are classed under mobility and not motorsport by the FIA, I'm not sure

Everyone can see now what the other clubs and Mr. Autosport have been saying years, and now the new guys on the block have to bleed and experience the deceit that the old clubs understand to well.

WHAT IS THE FIGHT....The fight is we want TTASA to acknowledge and execute their international constitutional responsibility by becoming an ASN, stop staging illegal events themselves (only sanction), and help their ASN affiliates promote their respective disciplines to the highest level of motor racing.

Barbados had a similar situation and the Government said if everybody don't come together nobody gets anything, and they did the right thing, yet we see a disconnect in T&T and TTASA get a place to race, so they not suffering, they still continue functioning illegally and practising communism to control and the Government encouraging it.

The question should be why was TTASA granted a venue and there are others still standing outside in the rain. Camden should not de considered the future but they building a mini track that have an expiry date.

We back again with another Walla Field situation, soon some of us will be back on Monroe Rd vex.

why Cant Horizon (YOUR CLUB) hold their own events , why cant TTUNDRA hold their own events

erm....
because mohammed ali...the TTASA 'president' refuses to allow the affiliates to develop their portfolios ???
just adding....since ali has always refused to address the issue when I brought it up at management meetings, saying some drivel about 'sub-letting'....

Please you all should know that this MSGC that has been formulated to function under the org of TTASA should be deemed flawed to all affiliates considering what was quoted by the chairman in a recent so called MSGC meeting, which was stated that no constitution exist, and so terms and conditions of function also do not exist, as the flamboyant brawl demonstrated in the last said meeting.

TTASA as directed by the FIA, should not interfere or dictate in the internal affairs of their affiliates but only give direction if sort, or manage disputes between bodies, fell free to check FIA online, all the info is there.

MSGC functioning/direction under the org of TTASA ? Is a direct contravention of independent democracy.

Mr. Chairman please seek some advice in future decision making before you stumble and fall into pre-arranged TTASA tricks of doom, you are young in the game, step lightly, why you think everybody else holding out.

If you want to spread a word, FACEBOOK THIS !

“The facility could not come to fruition without the assistance of the private sector. Not one dollar of public money has been used in the development of this plan. The land will be leased from the Crown on a long-term lease and 100 per cent of the cost to develop the facility is being raised through private means. At the end of the lease, the facility will revert to the Crown, ensuring that it remains permanently as the home for motor sport.

“While the strategy to acquire Bushy Park was hatched under then Prime Minister Owen Arthur, the acquisition of the land occurred under Prime Minister David Thompson and, today, the ground-breaking was held in Prime Minister Stuart’s term, demonstrating the country’s on-going commitment to this long-term goal.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to Mark Maloney, who has assembled a group of investors, including Bizzy Williams, who have committed to funding the development of the facility at no cost to the BMF. Without Mark’s vision, tenacity and generosity, we would not have achieved what we have thus far. I look forward to the day when I can call on all present today and you, President Todt, to join with us again for the opening of the completed facility.”

Now how is it that the BMF was able to get so much private sector support as well as support from the Government? This tells me that public confidence in the BMF is very high. They obviously are well managed and the issue of non accountability and corruption does not exist.

I have a solution, have the BMF run motoracing in Trinidad and Tobago.

yeh Fellas heres the response

Carlon Mohammed quote :'' well i am not a member of TTASA so i am not in a position to respond to the questions related to that organisation, why cant horizon hold an event? because of the agreement between the gov't and the NGB, the conference at the hyatt was hosted by TTASA where there was a welcome dinner and presentation by the FIA president for the clubs, i guess you commenting on what you saw on the newspapers and the minister also attended, let me ask a question? who traveled on the FIA JET to mexico with the FIA president and his entourage?''

you are confusing & obstructing a good line of discussion..please shut up a bit & let the story line play out.
.
carlon mohammed wrote:why cant horizon hold an event? because of the agreement between the gov't and the NGB,

there is a reasonably restrictive agreement for use of the Camden facility by the NGB for motor sport purposes only....
one restriction is that the NGB cannot sublet
as I repeatedly pointed out to mohammed ali, THAT DOES NOT PREVENT TTASA FROM APPOINTING MANAGERS FOR INDIVIDUAL EVENTS....THAT IS ONE OF THE MEANS WHEREBY THE AFFILIATES ACQUIRE NECESSARY EXPERTISE & LEARN TO RESPECT EACH OTHER IN A DEMOCRATIC ORGANISATION.
.
ali has always opposed this & will never let affiliates (& by extension the MSGC) have any opportunity to move motor sport forward by the MSGC becoming a true general manager of motor racing in T&T.
