for the record could we not taint the name of the Bluebird U13 SSS by referring to the Suzuki Swift Sport as a SSS.

Every time I read "SSS" I thought of the U13

6 fwd sequential .... it cost more than a swift sport by the way

yup thats about right - the transmission alone in a JWRC Swift is the cost of a brand new Swift Sport

you cannot compare the two cars

The Swift Sport is an excellent car in its category, i would buy one and thoroughly enjoyed test driving it too. They do exceptionally well at solodex.

But the OP is backpedalling and I think he has done more harm to his friend's and his own reputation, than good. Now we learn the driver was DUI makes it even worst :|

Knight1 wrote:But one thing I don't get.....WHY bother to post this thread?

If the intention was to show the "effects" of speeding - the approach was definitely wrong IMHO

If the intention was to show how "good" the SSS was in a crash - definitely wrong IMHO.

What you have done, is now put the driver's claim at risk, as yes, I'm sure some insurance agents (or even friends of them...something or the other) read these forums, and they aren't complete idiots....they can figure out what happened...especially after your comprehensive description. Sure, you haven't posted the pics of LP of the car....but think about it, you posted a grey auto SSS that crashed......

And moreover, what kind of response were you expecting exactly? Rating up the SSS - you don't want that. Flaming for the driver driving like a tun-tun - you don't want that either.

the owner of this vehicle is a forum member on trinituner as well and I don't have his full blessings with the posting of these pics thats why it is so limited and no shots of the body.

some have a misconception that the vehicle struck a light pole at 195kmph but we lossed control at that speed. by the time the vehicle struck the light pole, it was doing about 120kmph thereabouts.

These cars are pocket rockets but need proper tyres as they wear pretty fast and the steering is too light/sensitive.

This vehicle that was written off believe it or not despite being automatic achieved up to 197kmph and raced a manual one as well and held its on (or perhaps manual guy was shifting too early <---the crazy blue one on the road).

The driver lossed control due to excessive speed, poor tyres as evident by the pics and a wet road. He was not street racing and no other vehicle was involved thank God.

Due to the owner's wishes not even his peeps from Lifestyle Motors knows about this accident and its very hush hush. For the other 2 friends that I have who wrote theirs off as well, all I can say is props to these cars because everyone survived and trust me the wrecks were damaged real bad.

WRT what I said about the dash controls/lights still working, I was pointing this out just to highlight the fact that despite a bad accident, this car is no exception despite its small size. People feel that small car in accident = death. LSM and Suzuki getting free props here I suppose.

It good to know that everybody make it out alive but like the driver leave home with the intention to crash :? 195km/h on ah dry road kinda over the limit but 195km/h, in the wet, with bad tires, DUI and have 3 other ppl in the car :? Man happy yes

The driver didnt check the tyres before driving fast on a wet road?

I fail to see how driving at 190kmh on the road is any better than street racing.

I guess you didnt tell your friend this before he decided to see how fast the car could go on wet roads.

so then what is a GT-R? a space ship with warp drive?

fast compared to what? a Mazda 3?

Seriously though I think this thread is like saying "Wow my dog is amazing! I fed him poison and he survived! Everyone should get a dog like this!!!"

total agreement

Looks like this thread's purpose is:
(1) Proving/Stating that a swift can do 195km/h
and/or
(2) Trying to sell swift's....possibly a sales rep..

but seriously...
DUI,wet roads, bad tires,195km/h,4 occupants...and you want to say that the japanese car did it's job.
bro, start thanking God instead.
