CoP Gary Griffith confirmed a report to a JSC that Moonilal met with gang leaders which led to him being kick off the NatSec JSC.

“Griffith told the committee there was intelligence that the Opposition promised some $42 million to criminals, to be paid via two state contracts, if they helped get the Opposition back into power.“ https://newsday.co.tt/2020/02/29/moonilal-kicked-out/

Then I saw that same Gary Griffith side to side with Moonilal criticising govt response to crime a few weeks in a UNC press conference.

At this point nobody hands are clean.

We had a significant reduction in comparison to last year but with Mayaro and these in the Harpe we are catching up to 2023.

No bail and life (with the possibility of parole) for illegal firearms...only solution apart from a full on El Salvador type approach .

We did what Bukele did in 2011 and it failed and left us with a hefty legal bill. T&T has more constitutional protections than those Latin American countries that were former dictatorships.

And we currently have parliamentarians that oppose stronger antigang laws and bail restrictions on illegal firearms. Plus the Privy Council just ruled against curtailing bail.

People have the rights, so they say.

The issue in the bail bill and anti gang legislation were stuff being sneaked in which had nothing to do with the bill or were so stupid that they would not hold up to scrutiny.

This is fantastic news for the UNC/PEP/NTA. The PNM will look bad and cause Rowley to call elections which the opposition coalition or PP24 will win. If not, at least the yellow lawyers will get to argue for bail for the killers. Also is pest killing pests...so the police getting an ease up. Win win win win win win win.
Best of all, no need to boycott or protest.

So they won't campaign on crime and mass murders? That's poor politics.

to be practical, i don't how many people would change their vote at this point.

in for a penny in for a pound

the question of bail bill is not really a question. locking people up for decades without a conviction is against the constitution. the govt can't do that as a matter of routine no matter what the crime situation. the law even if passed would be overturned, because it is bad law

just a heads-up
Ppl eh as dotish as they were before, and tbh, the masses are getting VERY fed up of the election time gum flapping and amnesia and incompetence after taking up office.

Do with that information that which you will.

You're wrong. Trinis are the most stupid they've ever been!

When 6 murders including a policeman(9 shot),5 missing fishermen,4 men murdered in Mayaro, oils spill affecting thousands in Tobago and other neighbouring countries, the possibility of a minister being involved in crime and property tax....is less important and affects them less than 1 person killed in 2017 and KFC offering ketchup again. Eedyatts!!

I know animals smarter than some trinis.
