fellas,
the anti reverse switch on my daiwa dfa-100a stop working, switch moves but reel remains in off(not locked) operation.

So, its time to upgrade anyway, choices are:-
Penn Pursuit II Spinning Reel - PURII8000
Penn Fishing FRC8000 Fierce Spinning Reel
Penn Battle II Spinning Reel - BTLII6000
Shimano Socorro 8000F Spin Reel SOC8000FC

Looking for something durable, mostly surf casting, occasional boat

Have 2 rods already
Daiwa Beefstick Surf Spin Rod, 2 Piece (10-Feet/14-40-Pounds, Black)
or
Daiwa SLS1102HFB Sealine Surf Casting Rod (11- Feet, Heavy, 2 Piece, 20-50 Pounds)

Is the Daiwa Dfa100a repairable?
Whats my best option of the reels listed above?

Yes, parts may be the issue. Depending on the type of dog, it could be loose, stripped, bent or broken.
Can't go wrong with the battle, instant ar bearing and a backup manual dog inside the rotor. All metal, seals, ht 100 carbon drag washers.

oh I went guaya for a night, rell seaweed. Anyone ever fished the beach right before the point where bp is?. Water looks really fishy, steep profile.

Have 2 m/h rods already
Daiwa Beefstick Surf Spin Rod, 2 Piece (10-Feet/14-40-Pounds, Black)
or
Daiwa dwave f802m

The battle 8000 would match up with these or should I get the battle combo?

Anyone have experience with the shimano Socorro 10000, I'm getting it cheaper than most others, less than $600.

Awesome, at least the fish getting a break these days.

Shimano moving over to this new hagane metal concept, can't wait to get details on these things. Stradic about to be released by next 2 months.
