Tried it won't work on Nexus 4

guess will have to wait a bit longer for more support

It basically stuck on setting up bbm with the circle spinning

all N4 users seem to have same issue

You having any issue with cell service dropping after you make or receive a call? And the only way to bring it back is to toggle airplane mode or restart the phone..

Seems to be a bug on 4.3 that many users are facing with no fix at the moment

:(

Unless you downgrade to 4.2

I keep trying to figure why they would bring BBM to android and ios
BBM is the only thing blackberry has going, its the only reason people still buy Black Berry phones.
Its like Nintendo making super mario for playstation. Its just suicide.
Unless nintendo makes a demo super mario for playstation. hmmmmmm

btw good N5 pics kinda looks like HTC ONE X

But rather ugly compared to the N4 losing its amazing back glass and shimmery sparkle dots under light.

Idk if I'm just not finding anything or development is REALLY slow for the I9500. But I'm not finding any new roms recently, just the same old stuff I've tried over and over. Plus this dumb thing about Samsung not releasing the Exynos source code to developers preforming AOSP roms really piss me off.

Anyone has any good rom recommendations? Looking for fluidity.. Lag is minimal but still present in app transitions and stuff off and on. Google Chrome slows me down A LOT.

Need some help with android phone issue

Postby TeamH2O » September 19th, 2013, 6:26 am

Dunno if anyone can help but got an android phone here from someone to sort out and when you turn it on, you see the green android logo and then the entire screen goes white. You hear the opening sound etc when the phone loads up and u can basically receive a call or if u no the layout, select stuff etc.

If you hold the home button and power before turning it on, it says fastboot mode but upside down on the corner of the screen.

Anyone know how to solve this problem?

BBM will be available as a free download for Android smartphones running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean (Android 4.x) beginning at 7AM EDT on September 21. BBM for iPhones running iOS 6 and iOS 7 will become available for each market on the App Store schedule of 12:01 AM local time on September 22. It's funny the uproar iOS 7 has for getting a new wall paper, icons, and an easier way to turn off your wifi. Lol

 @ vega

You'll, probably need to take it to a technician. Sounds like a screen issue.
I had a similar problem with a nokia screen some years ago after the phone fell. Screen was fuzzy and there was a dread line down the screen where the right and left sides were swapped. If you weren't familiar with the layout of the menus, the phone would be useless.
Technician changed the screen and problem was solved.

Blackberry reveals date BBM messaging will go to rivals

Blackberry expands BBM to rivals
Blackberry announces big handset

From this weekend, users will no longer need to own a Blackberry device to access its BBM messaging service.

Blackberry has confirmed BBM will be available as a free download for Apple and Android devices but not for Windows phones.

The move comes as the Wall Street Journal reports that Blackberry will lay off 40% of its staff before 2014.

Widening the appeal of BBM could be a clever way for the company to reinvent itself, said experts.

"Blackberry is having a tough time, sales are down, it is losing market to Windows phones and it needs to do something to stop the rot. This is as good a move as any," said Chris Green, principal technology analyst at Davies Murphy Group Europe.

"Offering it across other platforms broadens the appeal of BBM," he added.

BBM will be available for Android devices running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean while iPhones running iOS 6 or iOS 7 can also download it. It will be available for Android from Saturday and for iOS from Sunday.

"With more than a billion Android, iOS and Blackberry smartphones in the market, and no dominant mobile messaging platform this is absolutely the right time to bring BBM to Android and iPhone customers," said Andrew Bocking, vice-president for BBM in a blogpost.
Reinventing itself

BBM has been described as Blackberry's "crown jewels" and the service hit a chord with a mass consumer audience.

Offering it to a wider public will not make any money for the company.

"It could even cost it money," said Mr Green.

"The firm is having to reinvent itself and whether that will be by focusing on software, monetising BBM, licensing its products or joint ventures is not yet clear. At the moment it is throwing everything out there," said Mr Green.

Blackberry chief executive Thorsten Heins revealed the plan at the company's annual developers conference in May.

At the time, Mr Heins said that the move was a "statement of confidence" and would allow Blackberry Messenger to "become an independent multi-platform messaging solution".

It could prove disruptive to other messaging services such as Skype and Whatsapp.

BBM has to evolve quickly and the only way to do so is with andoid and IOS , for the last few years BBM has been loosing drastically to whatsapp and similar cross platform messaging ..
This is a great move to try an regain the top spot..
Im pretty sure people will jump ship back to bbm once its cross platform .

carried it by a technician and he said he doubt its the screen bcuz when u power it up, the android logo shows up in full as if the screen was perfect and after that, it just goes white. When u hold the two buttons on powering up, fastboot mode is in the corner, so it means the screen is good and can display, just something is screwing up.
