This disease will kill any size of trees, its annoying.

caribbean chemicals

uwi agriculture department for more info if you so desire.

Thanks dude! I read once the discoloring is less than 25% the tree can be saved. I have some trees 35 feet tall and 150 small ones coming up, don't want to see more of the big ones die, its sentimental you can say, I understand this disease is caused by a yellow like grass hopper, I killed out all the grass now with poison. I read that those bugs are attracted by grass so gonna see if this makes a difference.

One last thing, how much do you all sell coconuts wholesale for?

currently my buyer pays $2 a nut, they climb and pick it, I just check and collect the money. Want to know if $2 is a fair price because the thing is they are getting quality Chiney Yellow Nuts which holds more water than the common nuts.

Sounds fair since you don't have to climb.

Yellowing would start in the rips of the leaves I think and from the bottom up. Water with half ah chubby every 3-4 days depending on the weather. Less is more like at Harris Megastore lol.

I believe it was zinnias York. I didn't have them for more than a week. Watered them a little maybe every three days but they started wilting. I think they are dead now though cause I don't think they can recover. :(

Alright thanks guys just wanted to make sure I was getting the market price. And yeah they sell it over for $6 or $8 I think POS its expensive like $8 a nut in the city.

From what my buyer told me he pays $1 a nut to the climber and $1 to the laborer to carry it to the van. Once my small trees start to bear in 5 years I will be able to pick all within arms length or ladder for a few years.
I heard there are Malayan Dwarf Coconut Trees that exist but no idea if they sell that in Trinidad, those trees never get tall. So you pretty much guaranteed $1 more per nut since no climber needed.

Anybody ever see something like this in Trinidad?

You know for a country like this with a twin island and part of the "Caribbean" which is famous for Coconut Palm Trees, its a crying shame that a dwarf coconut tree cannot be found anywhere.

How you could identify this dwarf tree is like this, the trunk is very fat and extremely short but leaves are full size. We need to find someone who has a tree like this and not only that but funny enough these Malayan dwarf coconut trees are also highly resistant to "lethal yellowing disease" that kills so many coconut trees.

An even greater need for us to be growing this plant. Is it possible to maybe import this plant off the internet with a skybox? lol I just need 1 dry nut alone. It could fit in a small package.

I could be wrong but I don't think u can import plants via a skybox. Also all plants imported, legally that is, must go through plant quarantine before being released to the owner. Plant quarantine is that place behind the old airport heading to centeno. Don't know if an import permit is required for a single plant though.

Dwarf Pommecythere? Do you guys have contacts for ppl with plants, fruit - limes, citrus, mango, Pommecythere, avocado, breadfruit, chataigne, other fruits.

I had 2 acres with citrus and mango but lapsed for a couple of years and fire took away everything. So I guess you have to be serious about working and maintaining it. I will mist likely do pumpkin or Plantain now.

Anyone have contacts for plantain Suckers, need about 400-500. Good sword Suckers from field without disease black sigatoka preferably.

dwarf pommecythere easy to get(like $35 a plant at major plant shops throughout the country).
if you're looking at local lime.....best bet would be to get a sucker under a fully grown tree.
all the others you looking for vary from $35-$50.

^ what area do you live? what kind of soil does it have? do you buy urea and other fertilizers for it? if you leave it as is you may have issues unless you have top class soil.

Same happen to us but we only lose about 50 orange trees luckily. We replace all of them with Coconut trees though, citrus is a dead end business because people thief it out. Makes no sense we plant citrus, better to just import it.

Coconut trees are almost invincible to fire, hard to reach for a thief, takes too long, too risky, too heavy to carry. Has WAY MORE money than orange, bears every month and don't have to wait to be in season like orange. The only downside is the trees can die from lethal yellowing but I prefer chance that than give thieves the opportunity to eat ah food.

That dwarf coconut tree plant is not a bad idea.
There must be someone in Trinidad with the plant.

ED, coconut has its fair share of problems eh, and they not invincible to fire. Also to import dwarf coconut you will need to visit Plant Quarantine in Centeno for a permit

usually when fruits dropping its one of the micro nutrients
try something with calcium, boron etc
is the fruit healthy looking after its fallen?
does it have dark patches, distorted shape etc, how is the foliage of the plant?

try a 13/13/21 rotated with some calcium/limestone/nitrabor and inspect the plant for any insect/fungal problem

There are some brown stains on the leaf. ..The fruit has dark patches and is distorted as well. .

I will try the mix you quoted.
