Reelman, daz best info u get there from mecalli...u need a dedicated surf casting combo for lures and another for soaking bait Bcuz the rod actions need to be different...I am looking at one of the St Croix rods to pair up wit a Saragosa 10000sw just for casting lures but I will also hav my terez 7'2" heavy for casting bait, wud jus switch rods and maybe line...

Mecalli, still hav to meet u to see if the action on that rod is what I'm looking for then I cud order Mines...

Yep, I want to get another rod as well, been eyeing that new sw too, the new spheros seems to be the same reel as the sara with a different paintjob and handle, it sure looks nice though lol.

Yea mecalli, the spheres so is ah nice reel...we won one in the tarpon thunder last year an tend to use it alot as it is lighter than the Saragosa an still gets the job done...

Devilz, don't waste your money bringing in those low end reels...u can get ah great small, cheap combo at mankee for relatively same cost...there is a solar/ax4000 combo which is a great setup and can handle braid...I love using that combo even with all the gears I hav...

Finnor lethal 60 and be there! you won't get a reel that can get dunked in salt, dragged through beach sand and mud, rinse and re oil and it goes like new ( looks like crap tho )

The Fin-Nor could take a beating. I fished Penn Z series and Daiwa Silver series back in the early 90's for years. I still have Penns and Daiwas, but I also have a Lethal and it working real good, it could take pressure, the drag is smooth and the capacity is good. Is not a Shimano but at the price point is a real good deal.

Sinnaz, sunday Guapo beach, we may or may not bring the yaks.

As for squid, I've held them with sabikis, the 4-6 hook $#14 ones, I got 5 ziplock bags with 20-30 each of them in the freezer.
