http://www.trinidadexpress.com/20150905 ... -pnm-stage

A 20-year-old man wearing a yellow United National Congress (UNC) jersey underneath a red jersey was arrested by police after he set the stage at the People's National Movement (PNM) rally at Eddie Hart Savannah in Tacarigua on fire yesterday.

When questioned, he told police his name was “Jesus”.

A knapsack belonging to theh man, containing candles, lighters and other paraphernalia, was also confiscated.

He was taken to the Arouca Police Station.

Around 2.50 p.m. yesterday following a performance by the Roy Cape All Stars the man mounted the PNM stage dressed in a red jersey.

He began spraying a fluid on the stage from a water bottle.

The master of ceremonies told him he could not spray anything on the stage.

At that point the man lit the substance.

A portion of the stage became engulfed in flames.

The man jumped off the stage into the crowd and attempted to flee.

Members of the crowd thwarted his escape.

He was handed over to a group of plainclothes police officers that ran onto the stage.

When his red jersey was torn off the UNC jersey was revealed.

Those in the audience groaned, with some calling for him to be thrown back into the crowd for a dose of vigilante justice to be meted out.

The master of ceremonies asked if the man was paid well to hamper the PNM's final rally before tomorrow's general election.

The fire was extinguished in no time and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The stage sustained no major damage and the show continued uninterrupted.

Hey rfari. I hope all is well! I also hope you're voting RED on Monday. My family and I drank the kool-aid in 2010 and have since regretted voting for the People's Party. I really hope PNM get's a strong showing in Tunapuna, St. Joseph and La Horquetta/Talparo.

This will be one of the closest elections yet. PNM will get back the EW but Tunapuna is any bodies game. In the past even when UNC discontent was high PNM jus barely won it. So it's fair to say puna is a wild card.

I would have called puna unc a few months ago, even up to a few weeks ago, support seemed to be strong and crossing the divides.

But recently it appears to be going pnm to me and after waze took me through all kinda back roads today to avoid traffic on the EMR i'll definitely call it PNM's own after seeing the mobilisation and showing.

Buh me eh no Nigel Henry so it could probably go ILP

Hmm would be close I'm from sando but work on east side..to add was at the pnm rally today..dem had a huge turn out as seen but remember at the end u vote one or another is back to our lives dem living their big lives with their egos and personalities.we still have to pay taxes , go to work and provide for our families.i does always say trini suffer from gold fish syndrome we forgot alot a whole alot.i myself thinking to be one of the decided for I really think d yellow or the red army would never tend to the needs of a nations.remember this as I always say politics has a morality of its own.we as a nation cannot be taken for a mule with their carrot on stick theories.

Honestly whoever wins, the biggest disappointment was the PP campaign, it lacked professionalism or strategy. Outside of bombarding people online and on TV there was nothing interesting or memorable about. I'm not sure what caused it but I'm sure the blame should involve Rodney Charles.
This was always an election about the undecideds, after the Vernella incident and backlash things like the vodoo ad shouldn't have been even considered and much less produced.
I ain't even get a catchy PP tune self man

First-class post, I think nobody can disagree with this.

When it comes to PP songs, Raging Bull and Aunty Kamla are not too bad (in my opinion) they are kinda catchy.

Nice shot of pnm crowd. Still less than ppg because unlike the pnm pic which has the entire area the ppg pic does not capture the crowds to the right after the tents. Not even sure if the line of tents in the pic as I come to think of it.

Edit: the ppg pic don't even have the line of tents to the right nor the crowds to the right. I estimate the crowd to be more like 50,000
