I hear you on dat...But a contract is never on the the side of the end user. Sad to say....I think after a month u can terminate with just paying the first month fee due to unsatisfactory service. After that its a percentage of ur monthly bill times the number of months left in the contract

It's $50 per month for every month remaining on the contract. It's there in the initial paperwork that was signed

I keep calling and the techs are very inconsistent with the information. Some techs say there is nothing wrong with the network and im supposed to use the chaguanas server only for speed tests. Other techs say they are aware of the problem and IT is working on it and has reached as far as Chaguanas.

Its been over a month now and still no resolution. Its 12am and my speed to Comcast, Miami right now is 11Mbps. What i find strange is youtube, and only youtube, streams are fine. When i right click on a video and click 'stats for nerds' the stream rate is 23Mbps.

Considering switching to Massy soon.

Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

Do a ping and tracert youtube.

If they have a youtube cache server on their network then that might explain it

I was pinging to 50.7.64.4 which is a speedtest server in Miami NAP.

IP address starts 179...

ahaa! u might right. Ping to youtube is 4ms and tracert shows the end point as 200.7.94.143...which points to a local digicel server when i run a whois.

Hi,

I've done some checking on my end and comparisons with some of my friends. Most of us have had Digicel since January.
Since late June/July the internet service has been considerably worse. Before that, the service had been flawless. Now we are nearing September and my own patience has been running thin. Pings to Miami/anywhere are inconsistent and my internet speeds are throttled in the night....the very thing I ran away from.

On a tracert to live.twitch.tv notice the response below
7--43 ms--43 ms--43 ms 66.54.126.96
8--76 ms--77 ms--76 ms mai-b1-link.telia.net [62.115.46.189]
9--*--------76 ms--*--------mai-b1-link.telia.net [62.115.46.189]

Not only is the ping odd on reaching Miami, but there is packet loss.
Tests with 3 friends who are on digicel also have very similar results. And most of them are throttled although most of them game in the night and I watch youtube/twitch/netflix

But one night, while gaming with another friend who also had Digicel, had maybe 30 less ping. What?
His tracert is

8--44 ms--43 ms--44 ms 66.54.126.96
9--44 ms--44 ms--44 ms mai-b1-link.telia.net [62.115.46.189]
A huge difference as you can see. We spoke at length and it has nothing do to with his location, since his relative who lives next door, also has Digicel but has a tracert result similar to mine. He also stated that he does not get throttled at all. So what gives? The only real difference is that he has the 200 Mbps package.

Reading the posts here, it seems that users with 200 Mbps package literally have no ping or speed issues.
Sadly, they have not provided anyone with any information even though the issue is clearly being caused on their end.

Fellow tuners i think persons should state which area they're from and what package they're on, so we can better understand if the problems have to do with specific areas. I heard from the start that Digicel used the wrong cable in certain areas ( not sure how accurate that is). For example my friend had a package with dem early in Chagaunas, had tons of problems. Internet and cable breakdowns. he told me that quite recently that they had run fresh or new cables at the poles along the main road where he lives and since then his service has improved. Now several of my friends in Trincity have no problems. I am in Arima getting hooked up tomorrow. I will post feedback and updates accordingly

If you are doing that test on the morning you will not see the issues most people are having.
Also hop 10 has 2 points of packet loss so it does confirm with that issue.

Yea but I'm sure they better than Digi customer service! Do u get emails telling u when there is a problem and what cause it. And follow up emails telling u when it is fixed? No provider does that but massy right?

Or a picture ID of the technicians emailed to you, that are coming to your door before they reach, so u know they are who they say they are!

Or a technician actually calling you back on your time to help you set up/ configure a third party router? He actually found the manual and assisted with this.

I don't know about Digi but I'm quite happy with Massy!

Im in the palmiste area. Ping to MIA is about 97ms for me. When I do a tracert live.twitch.tv my results are:

7 61 ms 64 ms 64 ms 179.60.213.89
8 75 ms 62 ms 61 ms 172.31.14.10
9 61 ms 64 ms 64 ms 172.31.13.8
10 62 ms 61 ms 61 ms 172.31.13.0

14 145 ms 143 ms 147 ms dcx2-edge-01.inet.qwest.net [67.14.28.70]

What ive noticed: you are experiencing much better pings than I am. And for some reason my connection route goes through NY rather than MIA...I have noticed that all my connections to the US go through NY rather than MIA first. Im not sure why im on this route. and Im not using any DNS or VPN. Ive had this problem about 2 months now .
