I ride on Tuesdays and Thursdays after work. Its easier for me to leave movie town and head chag than arima on the weekend. Always have something to do then.
She would enjoy that.

@Seeker, grease those pivots and see if the creaking goes away. My cuz has a white & red model to your bike.

@trinibajan, those SLX brakes making noise like mine as yet?

To those who use android phones, what apps you use for riding.... MapMyRide, Strava Cycling?

I use the runtastic mountain bike app. Full ver works well with the GPS map, auto start/stop and heart rate monitor support.

My NAS has a built-in torrent app, so I just search for what I want. I found only 3 months thus far.
I'm seriously thinking of subscribing to it. Its only 15USD a year, one each month.

It rained in pos yesterday so it wasn't bad this afternoon. .

Funny story, in an attempt to better my 7 min north bank run (down), I crashed into 3 trees..lol.
Took one of the corners 2 fast and 2 deep, handle bar cliped one tree, pitch me into the other 2. The latter was close together so I didnt go futher off the trails.
I know my shoulder and ribs would hurt in the morning.

Time to get me a gopro, would have made an epic u tube vid...

I got them to knock $200 off the regular list price of $3200 as i am a regular at Bike-Inn/Ojars. I was planning to buy the 1.7 but I'm unfamiliar with the hydraulic brakes and i enjoy doing my own servicing and repairs. not to mention the extra $1000 in my pocket.

Thanks to effectic for a detailed review and purchase discussion in this thread. gave me the confidence to buy, zero regrets

Thats a good price on the 1.9 29er

Though even mechanical disk brakes are somewhat a little difficult to adjust so to save yourself the headache just make sure the shop has it properly tuned while its under warranty.

I guess the big difference with my 1.6 29er and yours is my handlebar is aluminum while yours is steel so yours can rust. Better quality derailleurs (Though in real life there probably is 0 difference)

I see yours has mechanical disk brakes but no brand name? how does your brake work does it have any rub?

But yes you made a very good choice and a very good deal also. Hydraulic is a nightmare and I highly suggest not buying any bike with hydros. On the other hand thank god my hydros work excellent now since jerrad fixed it never had problems since. My mind is at ease and I don't even have to worry about brake seizing up due to mock and rust like mechanical ones since hydros are sealed. Though I would offcourse never again buy a hydro bike. When my tiers wear out I will invest in road bike tiers since roadies also use 29 inch rims.

But I do wonder how big would the difference be in pedaling, Jerrad says its big.

Don't knock hydraulic brakes , they do work good .my bike came with Hayes hydraulics and they worked good but I changed them to shimano slx because I could get parts down here and shimanos are trouble free brakes. High end bikes come with shimanos lower end come with cheapo brakes .swap out to a pair of shimanos and you will sing a different tune

Some guy came yesterday for my Bike. I forgot to take down the ad I had but he offered $3500. I declined a few times but he insisted on buying it.

After much taught I figured I would sell him it, so I let it go.

Even though it seems to work perfect I have nightmares still after that last scenario. While I agree good hydros from real companies like Hayes or Shimano would probably work flawless I have been turned off from them permanently.

However the real reason for letting it go is for a new opportunity to buy a Road Bike instead which is what I originally wanted but didn't buy because bike inn didn't have my size when I went.

I have asked countless people about this and searched the ends of the internet and all seems to come down to this. Roadies are much easier to pedal due to much lower rolling resistance and lighter weight. Better aerodynamic positioning etc. One guys says difference is night and day. So this looks like a grand opportunity for me to finally get my roadie but there is no roadie threads on tuner just this MTB one.

Like this Fuji Sportiff thats going for $5k at bike inn

http://upic.me/i/y8/fujisportif2.320141.jpg

Or even a hybrid like this Fuji Absolute 1.4

I read somewhere that you should wash your bike at least once a month depending on often you ride.
Bought a Park chain cleaning kit from trinirider last month, it works well. Lube when done.

Geronimos has a book where people list their second hand bikes for sale.
One of the guys(Ramchie) who works there on Wed/Fri is well known throughout the country and usually knows somebody or selling for somebody.
He sold a bike for me to somebody in Tobago.

it would help to know what size bike you would need.

I go check them out.

Thus far if that ain't work out for me I looking at the Fuji Absolute 2.1

Bike inn will have it for $3200 if they get in stock

but with them clueless joes who always getting shipment but clueless as to what coming in it go be a gamble to wait. In many ways I am happy never to have to deal with hydros or any form of disk brakes ever again. Its like a new birth on life once more to rewrite the mistakes of the past "Admittedly when jerrad fixed it, it worked perfect since then but the nightmares will never go away so I won't return to disk brakes". I never wanted a MTB in the first place because its slow on asphalt and lots of rolling resistance and I should have waited in the first place.

Image

I like this Fuji 2.1 absolute however my pride and joy was originally a absolute 1.4 that they currently have for $4500, however they only have a small 17 inch. my question is should I go with the 2.1 or the 1.4? I liked the 1.4 because of its super light 22 lbs weight and amazing crimson red with the chrome cassette in the back.

Anyone ever bought a bike off the net? if so how much is the shipping like?

I want this bike I am in love with it.

http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Pr ... 1___000000

I like how the cassette is chrome and the color of the bike. I real picky in what I want and usually the colors has to be right.
