Guys anyone using a custom rom on the S4? Studying to try one but not sure which one, suggestions? Looking for one that at least maintains the touchwiz camera features and app2sd support

Usually I would use custom ROM but Im just getting accustomed to the stock S4.

I find it a bit laggy, my S3 on OMEGA ROM was a lot snappier.

Go into Developer Options in you settings (Settings > More> Developer Options) and turn off Windows animation scale, Transition Scale and Animator Duration Scale.

That alone will make the stock S4 feel a bit faster.

On my S4 there is no developer options in Settings > More> Developer Options.

So I had to do this:

Open Settings, then go to phone details (where u can see kernel, Android-version etc) then just tap your Build number "JDQ39.I9500*********" 7 times !

I turned off Windows animation scale, Transition Scale and Animator Duration Scale. There is an improvement but still some lag when opening phone app phone logs etc.

http://androidcommunity.com/bbm-for-and ... -20130717/

while they have still yet to offer a specific date, or for that matter, a specific month there has been a bit of clarification in terms of a summer arrival. This latest comes by way of Sunil Lalvani, the managing director at BlackBerry India. It seems Lalvani was asked about BBM for Android during a recent BlackBerry Q5 announcement event.

During that event he confirmed that BBM is “coming to Android this summer.” So far that is the same as what we had been hearing, however here is where the small clarification comes in. When pushed a bit further Lalvani said they are referring to “summer as per North America, where it remains till September.”

ok.. so basically.. what'sapp only have a couple more months to live lol

Forgot about that step there ZeroOne, apologies. You're right, you have to enable the Developer Options first.

try formatting the memory card on your pc . (use one of those usb adapters for pc)
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

does the phone boot up normally without the memory card ?
have you tried flashing stock rom with odin (without memory card) ?

I also had viper its one of the best roms for the htc one x, it increases the life of the battery astonishingly it is just amazing, just wait until u see the optimizations it has done to ur phone cpu
sadly i went playing around and got the cpu section on
That sweep2wake function is KILLER.
This rom is like ARHD + supermod but works without any issues and it's so customizable too.

well that's funny. i remember when everyone was running down blackberries for bbm. i sold mine because i decided it make no sense paying money to chat. i started explaining that to everyone i knew and recommend they check out whatsapp since it didnt need a data plan. lol

now i might end up doin the same thing in reverse. unless u need a data plan for android bbm.

anyone on catfiz? its the same as bbm, but for android, with chat encryption security, unlike whatsapp. not alot of ppl know about it. stumbled on it on the play store.

I using Tectiles atm for NFC signalling short cut commands

It doesn't have the promised functionality just yet but new updates weekly to the app is helping it get there.

I got a few cases from amazon like the poetic atmosphere clear case which I find cool also I got the white view case on sale for 6 dollars lol. Love the fact that I can a answer calls without opening the case. I ain't got around to getting anything that works with NFC or whatever it is in the back by the battery yet. Still don't get the concept of it tbh.

dont worry, someone will get ur nfc to work in a crowded fete as they sting your credit card details by just brushin up against the fone in your pocket. be careful with nfc.
