I think they didn't have the opportunity to... They went past pit entry by the time the sc was deployed

Think hes talking bout the first pit stop.

At the SC though Ferrari fell asleep on Raikonnen. He could have pitted and gotten ahead of Ric die to the double stack.

They probably thought track position was worth staying out - same as merc.
And yes, referring to the first stop as they wouldve surely stayed ahead of the mercs.

With regards to the first stop... Didn't they think they had enough of a gap built up to Bottas to have the pit stop and come back out ahead. Cause when you undercut someone you are asking the next set of tires to do more laps and you can suffer later on in the race... Anyhow that safety car made this race more interesting than I ever though possible

It was unnecessary for Max to attempt the pass then as he would have easily gotten past with the many laps left. Gave up a 2nd place for stupidness and screwed up vettel in the process too.

Verstappen has a lot of raw talent , but with time he will learn, Hes extremely GREEN still and his ambition is still outweighing his common sense.......

There had to be a gap cause he just glanced off the Ferrari with no damage to talk about... He might have overestimated his front end grip.
BTW...I don't really like Max as a driver but i give credit where it's due. Vettel miss that Apex by a car width and then some. Max just didn't have the front end grip to pull him through

Vettel said he left him room, hence missing the apex.
Max should’ve learnt by now - he needs to seriously relax himself.
Surprising how little the media is making of vettel‘s race being screwed and dropping point to Hamilton.

The experienced drivers know now not to firetruck around with Verstappen. He's a good driver but a loose cannon as well. He's a combo of Montoya Maldonado.

That was Ferraris race to lose! mercs got so lucky that Redbulls crash set off a series of events that led to their lady luck.
