Well with alot of businesses, a capital injection is needed to boost its profitability at some point in time. Whether you go to a bank.........or the Russian's, it may be still needed if you desire a stronger bottom line going forward. Like it or not, with the Russian's injection, sales, sponsorship, and support has gone up tenfold.
Also, and a point to note, Chelsea converted almost all debt to equity, herego on a financial standpoint, Chelsea is virtually debt free, and its bottom line is increasingly stronger. Whilst you have a point in your argument in that it did not come from its "sales", name one club that has never gone to an external party for some sort of financing.
INTERNALLY the club has to repay Roman every year...So technically speaking they are not debt free.

2 totally different arguements hoss.....debt vs equity financing....then again... expected no less of anti-Chlesea men who only have one arguement

yeah Real is a next one, funded by the friggin Spanish gov't![]()
but did you guys know that 60% of the tv revenue in Spain goes directly to Barca and Real? as opposed to the Premiership where its equally divided between the top flight clubs and there are even "parachute payments" by the FA for relegated teams ( though there are seperate payments at the end of the league according to final league placing )
it sucks in Serie A where clubs sell their broadcast rights to specific Italian stations so obviously the big name clubs will get a lot from tv revenue due to popularity
