In the market for a point and shoot digital, budget -nothing over 150US, any suggestions......

fujifilm finepix t400 not looking too bad, wouldn't mind the more experienced weighing in

I think you mean a Bridge camera.

Id recommend a Canon G9/G10, got to use one for work last week and fell in love

Oh not so much a point and shoot, more one of those point and shoot-dslr hybrid thingy

Not bad at all, its for my sis, but looking at it, makes me want to give her my fuji a100 and get that for myself

My buddy Marcel Lech who mostly shoots exotics took a few shots of my evo and his Supra the other night. He uses a Canon T3i for all his shots. My car is pretty clean but simple when it comes down to it. This guy can really shoot cars:

Point and shoots are dead. Smart phones are the way to go. I picked up an Iphone the other day and love it. no more P&S for me. Edit and publish to web one time as well, so no farting with SD card. The Nokia Lumina 920 is the best in class from the reviews I see and from my friend's photo streams. I like my Iphone 5 and the Samsung are not too shoddy either. Photo apps give you great control over exposure and post processing that you can't do on a camera. Might blow $30.00USD in apps alone just now. Making a tripod support for my iphone to get clearer photos.

Some of my iphone pictures, all editing done on phone (same photos both places):

That said, if you really want a P&S, get the best canon you can afford.. they are still the best as far as P&S is concerned.

DVSTT shoots with a T2i, and his pics are really top class, I have the same camera as him and my shots are almost always toots (I blame it on the lack of natural light and that I 'try' to shoot wildlife).

In most cases it really does come down to the photographer.

I do feel sorry for his parents though having to drive him around the country as he is not yet old enough to drive. :poke:

BTW anyone get to use the 70D yet? me wants :(

Feeling bite up. But I could drive eh, they just lil over protective :?

The pics of the supra not loading though, you have a Flickr link or something?

And WRT the 70D, I'm not sure whether that released yet, think it's just pre production models being reviewed. It is available for preorder on Adorama, but I rather just buy a 7D MKII as an upgrade. My T2i hasn't made 2 years yet so I'm good with it for the while, plus I keep it in a black skin when I use it so no one knows it's a rebel  .

Good effort with the desaturated flower.. But imo, I find doing a desaturation on a single object works better when you have a large, chaotic scene and u use the de saturation to single out a lone object or to highlight a single colour only... Eg the opening credits to "Cheers" (look it up on YouTube)...

But that's just my taste, ymmv and it's all subjective anyway.

Thanks for the response Lighthammer, get whatcha saying.
The desaturation pull the attention away from the mess of a backyard :D

It's LR 4.4, btw.
