How did you get to that? The published projections that have been all over the news show that the worst-case (note the spelling) predictions still put the total COVID-19 death rate for Japan, South Korea and Australia at 2× to 4× China's rate. The US and the UK are projected to have a total death rate that will still be 15× higher than China's.

Fueled by ignorance, conspiracy theory and low vaccination rates, Trinidad and Tobago will be right up there with the US and UK at 16× China's projected total COVID-19 death rate.

US starting back covid test next week for all ppl coming from China. Read an article thay said more than 50% of ppl on a flight from China tested positive for covid  .
Don't think that level of infection ever occurred before. Imagine how many 100s of millions have to be infected to get that result!
So they right to reintroduce tests and we should do the same for anyone who not only come from but also visited China in the past 2 weeks prior to whatever other country they came from.

I know one person who got a reinfection couple weeks ago
and another entire family who just caught again last week
looks like waning immunity time for reinfections......

"it will evolve to a seasonal flu status"

time will tell if this comes true or not, but if plenty ppl getting reinfections vs getting a flu with such regularity might be more than a flu

They worried about it a lil while now because from 10th Jan is Chinese spring festival. 20 days.

So everyone going home to their villages all over China in 10 days....the covid could potentially sweep through the whole of China from then and become completely uncontrollable as millions of persons go home from work to their families in rural villages.

BA.7 is currently less deadly when compared to the original strain but is estimated to be 7× to 10× more deadly than typical annual flu strains.

BA.7 has an R0 that makes it about 8× to 12× more infectious. Reinfection is possible within 6 weeks.

Expect COVID-19 fatalities to continue be higher than the flu by about 50× to 100×.

It doesn't seem to make a difference.

What does the study that you authored show?

Saw in the Straya/South Africa test last night Matt Renshaw returned a + Covid test just before the game started but as per new rules he can still play the match.

They separated him from the nearest player at the anthem though.

I think the mass hysteria phase regarding COVID is thankfully over. I'm sure the most of the other players would have been vaccinated even boosted so no sense not letting him play
