anyways, could be thermalpaste not applied properly causing it to overheat or something along those lines

why would this be a problem if temps are within safe limits?
that is why i only had 4.2ghz on it.

it is not overheating at all,
in fact the opposite its surprisingly cool for 4.7ghz and 30 mins on prime 95.
i would be very happy with it how it is if it wasnt for the 1.44v being too high for safe operation.
i'm asking about Asus's load line calibration settings and how they affect cpu frequency because right now it is set to temp load so it throttles according to temp but the other option is current load so it would throttle according to current load,
right now i think it has allowed itself to add another 200mhz or 2x on the multiplier because it has alot of thermal headroom remaining,
whereas i think if i switch to the current load throttling it will bring the clock and voltage down to reduce current draw.
i'm just interested to see if anyone on here has a good understanding of this and learn something.

JM3 your temps are fine no need to reseat the cpu. Btw what new cooler are you using? You'd definitely need to adjust a couple more settings manually besides the multiplier if you want to run @ a specific voltage.

This Thread will help you with your Ivy OC.

check and see in the bios if intel smart boost is turned on,that's probably where your getting the extra voltage and 200mhz from.If it is,and your oc'ing, turn it off.

Thanks for advice I decided to put asus turbo v Evo back on and forced the clock back down to 4.5 and 1.4v currently at 50 deg and holding using prime 95 fft max heat and power. If 4.6 stays at around this voltage I'll stay at that 4.7 would eventually damage the CPU with the 1.45-1.56v

PC problems occuring guys can someone help?..... Im currently running the following...

Processor: Intel Core i7 870 @ 2.93GHz
RAM: 8GB RAM (DDR3 Kingston) <--- I have 16GB but im only running 8 for now
OS: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 64-bit OS...
Graphics: NVidia GeForce GTX 560Ti 1GB
Motherboard: Intel DH55TC 1156 Socket
HD: 1TB

It often keeps freezing on me... Literally every time i turn on the pc and browse the net a hour or 2... The mouse sticks then the keyboard has no response... Sometimes the entire pc freezes and the monitor shuts off as well then you'll see 'No Signal' (I tried pressing the CAPS lock to see if the keyboard has a response still and its frozen as well).... Can anyone please help with this problem?... Suggestions?... Is my ram damaged?... Or is it the graphics card... (Although i doubt cuz i was playing battlefield 4 for about 2 hours straight and no problems)...

same thing happening to me as well. I'm about to change out my ram (4gb of g skill) because one is going bad to see if that really is the problem. It either registers in the system or not. Sometimes i get the 2gb usable or 3.25gb usable in windows properties. but once it's working, it working good until random cut off.

Running athlon2 x3 445
MSI 6950 reference
Corsair 620watt psu
Asrock 890gx pro3 with Win7 ultimate 64bit installed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please continue shopping on the Amazon.com home page."

I'm unsure of what magic youre using or if you have a US credit card...but spread the love bro

I even get my XBL and PSN cards off amazon.

The only thing that doesnt work is movies and music.

You can use mediahint.com...install their extensions for either chrome or firefox, clear your cookies and amazon prime video is available for use. US Netflix, Hulu and most others are available as well.

Works like a charm!

I was getting the same problem some time ago, was also getting BSOD with the GPU. Gave the card a good cleanout and it seems to be working fine for now. All this after I bought new parts to upgrade

Yeah it would but you'll have to turn down the graphical settings a bit to get playable framerates.

Say about mid to mid high settings (on average) at 1080p for games.

That's what i'm accustomed to. IDK if they think they cud jam ppl as its blackfriday/christmas season to make up some $$$ but I real not gonna let this slide. I brought down parts to build entire systems already and it didn't come up to this much
