Dat Cedros jetty does have snook and salmon in d night but u hafta hv herring bait. D beach in Granville, pt coco beach does hv salmon and snook from d shore but u hafta use herring, caught snook to 8 pounds there already but dat beach got hit wit d oil spill so I don't know how it is right now.

Galfa and bealiea beaches especially galfa does hv shark till 80 pounds and cavalli over 25 pounds especially in d rainy season right now, even though d water dirty. Use a live small black and yellow cro cro and u on. I got spooled there a few times already but d locals I fished with caught d sharks and cavalli, dey had good braid line, I had mono.

In galfa if ur line not in d far gut u wouldn't get any gd fish. U hafta start to fish bout 2 hrs after low tide to reach it and dats when d fish there start to bite, when d tide get too full dey stop.

I work along the coast and granville still has oil in the two ravines on the beach. (upto 1 month ago) The beach itself has traces of oil and the chemical used to disperse it, I would not eat anything out of the water close to there.... thats why its Cedro's or Icacos.

Where exactly as Galfa and Beabiea?

JOKER!....Man doh message back ah tall!!!

Joker, Mission on Icacos side? yuh have meh number we'll make a serious fish close to d vene dem...

D road with d Cedros health centre, past it and straight down, to d left track is galfa and right beauliea, not sure if I spelling it correct though, it's pronounced "bowleea"

Na bro I'm around! Building house these days and doing some fishing and diving in between!

But heard fish going crazy on the east coast. Huge mutton snappers.

I wanna take my lil boat up sea wall and make a fish.

I know RyanTT killing them!

Its a bit unfortunate though if they're catching em in aggregates though, that can only mean its a spawning period, cuberas usually roam by themselves as well as muttons and don't stack up like reds. In panama, they have limits on em during the spawning period where they stack by the thousands of fish. Also interesting that it coincides with the supermoon which might've served as a reproductive marker. Wish we could have fish like these tagged and tracked, could learn alot bout local habits.

They held them last year around the same time as well and since last year i was saying that it was spawning time for them but fishermen catch to sell, that dont matter to them...

1 guy came in with 5000 lbs + Cuberas aka pag 2 days ago every year he does it around July august and September full moon spawning time for these fish he did a 2 day trip. Fish ranging from 30lbs to 120lbs amazing catch but sad I guess the thing though with line fishing you cant catch the entire spawn this mite just be a fraction of the entire mass of spawning fish. Its just a theory though. Heading out tomorrow will post pics this time.

The problem with that is an 80lb cubera generally is around 36 years old much more for bigger fish. When these females are taken out of the breeding pool, the future generation is extremely limited in breeding and genetic potential. It's sad that no officials take notice of these hauls, its all to benefit and protect the future fishermen and their livelihood either way.Important places at least are taking good care of their stock-panama and environs- aka cubera central :)

The mentallity locally is that fishermen catch fish for ah living and we cant stop them from doing that...with that said, how these other countries can have limits or conservations measures and all their fishermen still make their living?
