Well I saw a guy on my twitter , he posted a screenshot a couple hours ago of his ios5 springboard crashing with some var mobile substrate thing and had it running in safe mode .....

So I assume he is using the jaailbreak because that only happens in jail broken devices to my knowledge ... I think it's untethered also

If its a factory unlocked device update / restore as normel

If its not , you will need to preserve baseband before going up

there is no legit untethered jailbreak RTP as yet. There is an untethered one using the old limera1n exploit

Well finally got onto OS X 10.7.2, got iCloud set up, updated what apps I could for iOS 5, got Safari 5.1.1. Unfortunately iOS 5 is still 2 hours away & not even sure how the Apple TV is going. Now if only I could get iPhoto 9.2

Wait.. I thought it was going to be like bbm where each iphone/ipod/ipad has its own Pin. Interesting.

Can you use the same email address on multiple devices?

iMessage is not integrated into iChat as yet,

I'm sure apple plans to consolidate iChat/iMessage/Facetime sometime in the future, just seems natural to do so

The news comes from Forbes – an American business magazine – in a post where they talked about information revealed from the official death certificate of Steve Jobs who, as we all know, died last Wednesday.

The death certificate that Forbes got its hands on was obtained from Santa Clara County Public Health Department. It categorically states that Steve Jobs was laid to rest on Friday at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto, California.

Forbes wrote:Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was laid to rest Friday at the Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto, California, according to a death certificate obtained from the Santa Clara County Public Health Department.

He will be surrounded by some of the artists he loved, the technologists who inspired him, and a former U.S. Secretary of the Interior for good measure.

Jobs died from respiratory arrest after suffering from metastatic pancrease neurodocrine tumor which was first diagnosed around five years ago. No biopsy or autopsy was performed and it is now confirmed that he was laid to rest this past Friday on October 7th, after we learned that his private funeral was taking place earlier that day.

According to Forbes, Jobs “will be in good company” as Alta Mesa Memorial Park is the final resting place of folks like Hewlett-Packard co-founder David Packard and mentor to Packard and the other HP co-founder Walter Hewlett Lewis Terman who were personalities which inspired Jobs.

News of Jobs’ death was confirmed by Apple on Wednesday in an email from CEO Tim Cook to Apple employees. The death of Steve Jobs caused great grief to all technology enthusiasts around the world. We even published a pictorial tribute of sorts to Jobs in which we included photos of him from as early as the late 60s (when he was in his teens) to his last keynote at WWDC, 2011.

Well once you preserve the baseband the gevey sim should work , but I don't think this jailbreak preserves the baseband

All devices previous to the iPad 2 are JAILBROKEN FOR LIFE since limera1n. In other words, iPhone 4/ipt4g backwards.

The question is if it's untethered or not. Right now it's Tethered.

As I also posted previously. If you are using various means to unlock and need to preserve your baseband STAY AWAY FROM IOS5. Have some patience, the devteam is working hard to push the new redsn0w to help out...

U sir are brave. Ive had times where I need to restart and there is no way I could reboot if I were tethered. I hope i0n1c releases the untether exploit soon.

I'm not sure if something carried over from my previous iOS 4.3.3 jailbreak to iOS 5 but it seems that my caller ID is intact all on its own. Just checked to see if my backup worked & all the numbers were as they were before I started the upgrade.
iOS 5 looks like it finally helped that situation

Use Snowbreeze to create a custom ipsw that preserves baseband.

As long as you were using a gevey sim before you will be fine.

If you are using ultrasnow for your unlock then you should wait since it is not compatible with iOS5 as yet.

Hope this helped
