I gave him a bottle of aptasia X. The thing is its a couple hundred he says in the tank. The huge.

If it the amount he told me before and you saying the hyposalinity wont work, Then his next best thing might be the only thing that no one wants to hear. Full the tank with fresh water and restart. I did that on my other tank years ago when it got velvet and ich in one shot. I had to wash everything in fresh water and start over. Wasn't easy

i need some help i have a bio pellet reactor two little fishies 550 reactor and i buy a marine land 474gph pump to use with it and the valve open all and the biopellts still not tumbling, i have a little more than 1/4 filled with pellets. before i added this pump i had the reactor with a small pump and was workin fine for the first few days after alot of clumpin and low flow so i changed the pump and have good flow comin out of the reactor but no tumbling of pellets

Are you sure the inlet and out is set correct? As in you didn't put the pump on the outlet side? Also I believe there is a thin white mesh that is used for biopellets, the black sponge that comes with it may reduce flow.

Also if all is correct then ensure the reactor is level and then I would remove all the biopellets. ..and put probably quater what you have there. Once that is tumbling then add the rest

^^^^^ what he said or it could also be the 90 deg elbow that connects to the down tube (which leads to the bottom of reactor) has come loose so water is just going in and out. I had allot of problems before with that same reactor. one min it working good, the next its loose. When that happens the pellets just clump together and problem start. The mesh and sponge gets clogged easily. I got real fed up of servicing it every 2-3 wks and end up buying the Hydra Aquatics BioPellet Reactor 2. Its a bit more expensive but works great. Think its about a year now and works real good. Never had any problems. There are some vids on youtube showing you how to modify the brand you have. You always have to be servicing and cleaning pumps, reactors and skimmers on a regular basis when you have stuff in a sump. I do a general cleaning of all the equipment every 3-4 mths.

like you having second thoughts :D :D
Heard the Tunze's are good as what he said. I never used them. The choice is yours. Just get the right size for your size tank. One good thing about reef tanks you can always push real water in them and the fish and most corals will love them. I still never had any problems with my two MP40's and the running about 27mths+ 24/7 with no problems. May just have to change the Teflon bushings soon though. Try the Tunze's

My pumps (1300 gph)are blowing the mushrooms off my rocks so i need to get some smaller pumps !
Tried all kinda ting to deflect the water , from off glass, the rocks , use only one pump etc still trouble , some of my mushrooms are almost the size of my hand now so i thinking about putting more than two pumps in the tank that carry less gph output .

then that go take up more space, use more current and if you not running a chiller, more temp. (might be minute)
Then why you putting your pumps facing down and to the rocks with your mushrooms..

which ones of the tunzes you running and does it chatter (the impeller) when power comes back on like the koralias. There is a location in my tank that I cant put the other MP40 because of the motor being on the outside. My next bet is a tunze or another koralia. Also looking into the JBJ oceanstreams

I can't remember the exact model number, but it was 2200 gals x 2. And yeah they made noise for about 3 seconds when first powered on.

newbie here

always wanted a salt water tank and finally bought a set up

I have no experience, just did some reading over the past year

I wanted something small to start with, I know it will be more work but I don't have the space for something bigger at the moment.

What I bought:

Coralife Biocube 29 Gallon
http://www.coralifeproducts.com/product ... ums-tanks/

Image

Oceanic 36011 BiocubeMini Ultraviolet Sterilizer, 5-Watt
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0027I ... UTF8&psc=1
Image

Oceanic 82053 BioCube Protein Skimmer
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015G ... UTF8&psc=1
Image

Digital Thermometer
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002D ... UTF8&psc=1
Image

Hydrometer
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00019 ... UTF8&psc=1
Image

API Saltwater Master Test Kit
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EU ... UTF8&psc=1
Image

----------------------------
Coralife Biocube 29 Media Basket
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B40 ... UTF8&psc=1
Image

Seachem Purigen 100ml
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002A ... UTF8&psc=1

Boyd Chemi-Pure Elite 11.74 oz
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UE ... UTF8&psc=1
---------------------------------

^ from some online reviews I read that the "bioballs" that comes with the Biocube are not so good for filtration, so I bought the media basket, seachem and boyd chem-pure to replace it.

I would just like to have a coral, couple clown fish and similar types and probably an anemone

how am I looking so far?
any suggestions?
what else do I need?
where do I get water
Where do I buy sand, fishes and rock?
what should I do once I have everything installed?

any assistance is appreciated.
thanks!
