Went DDI yesterday, the breeze from the Gulf real strong, water was choppy all day. Had intentions of fishing in the second and third bocas, but the breeze from gulf and north made for some rough water. Did some banking around Monos, held a few walliack and 27 deep sea reds on a sweet spot during the falling tide. Saw plenty big grantekai rolling too.

Bait like rain in Teteron and Scotland, definitely had big fish pushing them up to the surface. Probably cavalli or ancho or grantekai self, have a feeling that the bechine will be pulling after dark.

Quick question here, and my apologies if it was was mentioned earlier on in this now very long thread..

Where can you Rent a Rog for a day or so. Calypso used to do it back in the day, but I dont think they do anymore, . Not necc for fishing or foe DDI booze day but for a easy going cruize, eat and dip when wanted.any decent suggestions would be appreciated.

Yao fellas, just wondering, if I looking to make early morning (5am) runs to either chaguaramas or toco, can I get bait at that time or should I just buy from the day before? Now trying to get back into throwing some line. Got an 8ft rod that barely seen water since I prefer casters.

Thanks man. Went anchorage this week and didn't catch a thing. Just made a turn really to test the waters. Gotta sort out all my gear again. Might make a turn in the General Store to restock. Next weekend though is when I'm looking to make that early morning Toco run.

the amount of bait down the islands right now it bound to have real bechin, ancho, tarpon, cavalli, etc. Is years i haven't seen that amount of bait around scotland/teteron. like the IMA bait ban finally reaping rewards.
I remember in the 90's we fished a-la-vive in scotland and held kingfish upto 35lbs!, big macreo, cavalli, carang a pline, big carite. I wish those days would come back.

Boy I think so yes, since them men used to come down by Anchorage and pen bait and cutlassfish by the tons for export the bait get real scarce. I know the IMA had banned the commercial netting of bait to give them a chance to catch themselves, so I not sure where the bait in the market comes from. Maybe East coast?

Interesting, they need officers inspecting catches according to those laws, recreational and commercial anglers. Would make a huge difference to our fish stock. Fish van passin normal sellin fry dry.

Exactly my point, blatant ignorance. But then again, i didn't even know about it- a key in resource management is public awareness as well as enforcement.

This is a revelation, didn't know we had minimum sizes for red fish etc. Poor education on the part of the authorities. Just like TTEC saying you have to re-wire and inspect your house every five years, not everyone knows that.

Guy, I want to throw some line by carenage side this evening. Is it safe? I usually see ppl parked up nd relaxing at night. Haven't heard any issues in that area lately. Also, what is the usual catch?

Yeah if is by cda by the boardwalk are, police patrols there all night. You can catch grunts, snapper, and sometimes salmon and cutlassfish.

Went manzan today. surf as rough as can be, still caught my largest whiting to date :) about 12 inches, and 2 tiddler cats.

Meccali I was fishing in the estate where u does pay to go in. Only catfish and stingray whole day, water get a lil dirty because rain probably fall recently.

I had real live mullet dat was caught in d river for bait though, I think it was big snook busting bait on d next side of d mangroves all 530 pm so.
