One Arrested Firearm and Ammunition Seized in SD, NED
On Thursday 16th January 2025, during the period 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, a major anti-crime operation led by officers of Southern Division Gang Intelligence Unit was conducted based on intelligence information received. The team of officers proceeded to a bushy area along Tarouba Link Road. There, they discovered an abandoned wooden structure and upon searching, the officers uncovered a black, metal and plastic gun approximately three feet long, with three (3) brass-coloured 5.56mm rounds of ammunition. They also discovered a black and silver metal pistol and three silver and brass-coloured 9mm rounds of ammunition.
The operation, coordinated by ASP Phillip and Insp Wilkinson, was supervised by Ag/Sgt Charles, A/Cpl Mohammed, and other members of the Southern Division Gang Unit.
In another report yesterday, officers attached to the NED Task Force acting on intelligence information relative to illegal firearms, went to a house at Irving Street, Petit Bourg, San Juan, where, upon arrival, they conducted a search of the premises in the presence of a man. During the search, officers found one (1) AK-47 rifle with one (1) magazine containing twenty-nine (29) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition wrapped in a white plastic bag under a bed in a room.
The man was arrested and cautioned in connection with the discovery.
The operation was led by Ag/Snr Supt. Edwards, Supt. Birch, and Ag/ASP Callendar, and included members of the North Eastern Division Task Force.
Investigations are ongoing.

One Arrested Firearm and Ammunition Seized in POSD and CD
An anti-crime exercise which was carried out by officers of the Guard and Emergency Branch and Coastal Unit between 3:15 pm to 5:15 pm on 16th January, 2025, resulted in the seizure of ammunition.
On Thursday 16th January, 2025, the officers from the two Units, acting on information received conducted a search of a vessel that was docked near the shoreline at Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots. There they discovered a pink plastic container in the Captain’s Pit area. Upon inspecting it, the officers found 11 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition. The ammunition was seized.
This operation was led by Supt. Frank of the GEB and coordinated by Insp. Matas of the Coastal Unit, with the participation of officers from both units.
In another incident, an anti-crime operation was carried out by the Central Division Task Force North at approximately 9:00 pm yesterday. Based on intelligence gathered, officers then proceeded to a Bar Lounge and Guest House in Claxton Bay, where they searched an individual and found a 9mm Beretta pistol with five rounds of 9mm ammunition in his possession. The man was arrested and taken to the police station.
The operation was coordinated by Snr. Supt. Carthy, Supt. Gyan, ASP Dipchand, ASP Singh, and Insp. Petti, with supervision from Sgt. Samuel and Ag. Cpl. Phillip.
Investigations are continuing.

Three suspects reportedly involved in the robbery of a Roman Catholic priest on Saturday morning were intercepted and arrested by police officers along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, Freeport.

Preliminary reports stated that Father Maurice White is currently hospitalized after being shot during a car robbery early on Saturday in Sangre Grande.

The officers with the aid of the Air Support Tactical Support Unit were able to spot the suspects during their attempted escape.

Fr. Robert Christo, Vicar for Communications in the Archdiocese, has confirmed the incident and stated that an official statement with further details will be released soon.

Yeah them fellas does roll heavy, he used to use the same range as I do until he got registered as a firearm dealer so he brings in his own stuff. They do have a 100 percent recovery rate to date I believe
