it's been happening for quite some time nowrfari wrote:About two months ago, I listened to an interview with some former anil roberts supporters in dabadie-omera. They were attempting to form a lobby group on behalf of the 'yutes' in the constituency.
Long and short was they were looking to profit from being able to rally their peers to vote for any political party of their leaning. Inevitable this is where the local politics is heading. There are the unions and to some extent the religious organisations that play this line but its only a matter of time before places like this forum is used to create a lobby seeking a particular interest. Auto sports maybe?

I'm also curious to see how much the poll results will change now that candidates are being announced.
(You can change your vote in the poll above)

The poll was conducted from July 10th to 13th.
For this study, 1,820 persons were interviewed in Trinidad and 498 in Tobago and the difference in the responses from each island was significant.
Dr. Ghany said this was evident, for instance, in the answers from the Trinidadian respondents to the question on who they wanted to see as Prime Minister if a General Election were to be held tomorrow.
“In this question, we got 45.7% saying Kamla Persad-Bissessar and 32.9% saying Keith Rowley, 4% saying Jack Warner and 11.1% Not Sure and 2.9% Don’t Know.”
He said 47.4% of Tobagonians would prefer Dr. Rowley as their Prime Minister, as opposed to the 15.3% that would want a return of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
On the question of what party people want to see in Government, the responses of the Trinidadians showed that the People's Partnership would have the vote of 45.8% of the electorate, the PNM 35.1%, and the ILP 3.7%.
Dr. Ghany said this differed from the responses from the persons polled in Tobago.
“45.8% said they would vote for the PNM, 15.2% said for the People’s Partnership, 5.4% said the Tobago Forwards, 2.2% said the ILP, 1.4% said Watson Duke, 0.4% for the Third Force and then there was 19.9% Not Sure, 4.2% Don’t Know.”
Similar to the 2NR polls as well. I trust that this is fairly accurate, most people are downright turned off and scared of PNM forming the new government.
This also confirms the poll
Glenn: I feel vindicated
Friday, August 14 2015
Former Minister of the People Dr Glenn Ramadharsingh said yesterday that he felt vindicated that the woman who accused him of sex acts has asked the police to drop their investigation of her complaint.
In a letter dated January 22, 2015, Patricia Singh wrote Acting Police Commissioner Stephen Williams calling on him to stop the probe, apologising for any wasted police time, saying she had a change of heart after seeking advice from her family and her church.
She said she was influenced by others when she made the report to police in April 2014. Singh had accused Ramadharsingh of forcing her to perform sex acts on two occasions at the ministry’s offices in Port-of-Spain. “From the very onset, given the gravity of the matter which caused a lot of personal pain, I had referred the mater to my legal counsel for their attention,” Ramadharsingh told Newsday. “I also cooperated fully with all the authorities, because I truly believed that I will be vindicated in the matter.”
