He got disconnected with cycling due to lack of funding and Coaching. Was crying out for help.

Hes not the only one, there was others before him that got shot and killed by police for gun crimes when they hit a armored truck and killed a guard.

who knows, something lured him into that business of shipping guns back home
there surely are many who doing the same.

shipping small items like that with a big freight company would def look very odd to have a bill of lading with just couple items on it

In sports this happens, hes not the first many athletes face this. Some do drugs, get depression, crime ect. Its all to do with ur mental state.

Some of these cyclist put alot of work in, they give up schooling & employment. When they things dont work out then they fall.

There is no guidance, there are other local cyclist that took up crime but those dont headlines.

The well to do cyclist can always fall back on thier parents.

Another local Olympic Sprinter now turned coach was also caught with a loaded gun.

He was a dedicated National & International cyclist riding with world champions at their class. The sports funding & Coaching system let him down. Hes not a well off cyclist nor does he have a structured indo family to keep him away from PNM behavior

Varun was not the first Indian Cyclist bandit.

In the 80s & 90s the Dial Brothers of Princess Town were also cyclist that staged an armored highjack where they killed a guard. They were both killed by police months later in a road chase.

In cycling u dont see that many Indians, the few u see are very good.

New Grant man to face court charged with siblings' murder

VISHNU BADAL of New Grant is expected to face a master in the High Court on September 9, charged with the murders of 16-year-old Shenelle Singh and her brother Keston Singh, 21.

Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, charged the 33-year-old over the weekend, having received instructions from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

On September 4, the two were chopped and killed on Nagee Road in New Grant. Shenelle's body was found around 7 pm on the roadside, and her brother’s body was found in a nearby wooden shack, slumped over a couch on the front porch.

Shenelle was a form four student of Mayaro Secondary School and Singh worked as a security guard. They were originally from Peter Hill Trace in Mayaro, but a year ago, Singh relocated and rented an apartment at Naggee Avenue, New Grant.

On August 31, Shenelle left the family’s home in Mayaro to buy school shoes, but decided to spend a few days with her brother.

The police arrested Badal on the morning of September 5.

On September 7, New Grant residents held a candlelight vigil for the slain brother and sister.

Funeral plans are ongoing.
