Yeah it decent.

If i had to recommend a beginner's custom kit it would be the xspc rasa rx240 (or the one with the ex240 rad). With that kit you could expand with a triple radiator and additional waterblocks for gpu/motherboard etc.

But for a better custom setup it would be this:

Swiftech MCP-655 pump
Swiftech MicroRes reservoir
XSPC EX or RX 360
Primochill tubing
Feser non conductive fluid
Swiftech Apogee or XSPC raystorm cpu block

The unfortunate thing with higher end liquid cooling components is the initial cost, but the long term benefits makes that more of an investment.

My CPU fan creates a pocket of turbulant (and hella noisy) air right in front it, and it goes away when you put your hand near the fan

so 2 3" dry wall screws and a styrofoam ball solved that problem, so now I can have a quieter PC at 100% RPM during the day :P

added some extra sponge for extra lulz

NO SIR DO NOT DO THAT you are ruining your airflow..... if you have turbulence do something use some stiff plastic to direct the output, just like the rudders on a ship's propeller

Hey guys I need some advice. I have a laptop here and it randomly stopped booting into a Windows after being put down for about 2 weeks. It's an Acer Aspire 5516. It'll get to the windows logo and after a couple seconds of the logo glowing (Windows 7) it'll just BSOD and reboot with options displaying launch startup repair because recently changed hardware may have caused it to stop working properly or start normally. Start up repair leads to black screen. Attempting to reload windows just gets me stuck at starting setup. Funny thing is when I play around with the RAM sticks, (2gb x2) when I put only one stick of RAM in slot one (any one of the 2gb sticks) it'll just not display anything. If I put the same stick in slot 2, it does exactly what I described before. And this occurs for both sticks of ram. And well the above described problem occurs with the two sticks of ram installed as well. Could it be bad RAM or a problem with the mobo? Laptop was always well treated and only about two months old.

wow thats some extensive modding though...a bit beyond my capabilities right now. I was thinking more of a 5.25 bay pump/reservoir combo with a dual 140 rad up top

^That should be good enough.

A 360 & 240 rad is kinda overkill for just the CPU and one GPU :/
The 990FXA UD7 looks secksee in that rig though

Try bringing up the Advanced options menu (press F8 just before windows starts booting) and select "Disable automatic restart on system failure" and when it reaches the Blue screen, check the error message (about 2 or 3 lines down, and in caps) and you could post it here to see if anyone had the same problem/solution and you could also check the windows forums.

Thanks for the reply. I've attached a pic of the exact error message that came up when I did as you said. I'm gonna Google around and see what I find now.

Jonathan_337, I got that error message once, a while ago and I didn't bother to try to fix it. I format the hard drive and reinstall windows (because I was going to do that sometime later anyway)

Here is a fix that worked for some people, but didn't work for others

http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2605/fixing_the_dreaded_unmountable_boot_volume_error/

And ronaldo I know ollour fellas like them full size towers, but what is ollour thoughts on this?
HAF XB (I don't think all those leds included though)

Well that's the problem, it won't even get to the stage where I can format. When I try reinstalling windows it gets stuck at starting setup otherwise I would've done that long days.

Look like led strips. I like the interior, it's very well thought out & roomy. The HDD holders nice & I like how it could double as a test bench. Price not bad @ all too.

Well yea that'll be ideal or a 280 + 120 if you plan on adding the gpu. That was a show PC btw, just to give you an idea of what your 410 capable of.

Oh yea for sure, I always rather have too much than too little tho  But adding another 680 for SLI ina timin so the extra rad space gonna make up for it.

HCCA how that case build coming along?

It pretty much done, just have to install the parts and wire everything up.

Dedicating the whole ah tomorrow for that.

Didn't come out as perfect as i wanted but considering the overall cost to build i eh mind nah.

I know you mention something about the ram sticks earlier, but it also sounding like it could be a hard drive problem. If you have fast internet and a empty 2/4GB usb stick, you could probably create a bootable Ubuntu stick and boot from the usb and see if it works. If it works without any problems, then it could just be that something wrong with the hard drive.

and yeah iM@st@1 led strips was what I meant.

My case came with 6 fans, and at 100% they noisy like hell and I don't see much temp change when I disconnect them. Right now I just have the CPU cooler fan and the exhaust one right behind it. I prefer to have a quiet system that running at 99°C than a very noisy one at 98°C

Next time I buying a case I might consider one of those smaller ones :?

It booted but Ubuntu is just stuck at the loading sign for idk what reason :/

EDIT: booted now it's asking for a password :S which I don't know of. Everything I Googled doesn't work.

EDIT 2: Well I just rebooted again and it works. I installed Wifi drivers and everything and it works great so I'm guessing the RAM has to be fine? It'll be the HDD more than likely?

I'm gna try installing Ubuntu to the HDD and see if it works or gives me an error. Thanks A LOT for your help thus far. I would've never thought of using the live USB even though I've done it already :/. At least the laptop is generally usable for browsing and stuff until I can get a new HDD.

The SP fans?

More news:

Leak: Enthusiast-Grade IB-E CPUs Slated for Q3 along with SB-E Core i7-3980X 8 Core CPU for Q2

Another leaked Intel roadmap has hit the internet and brings some good news for extreme performance enthusiasts! There are two main upcoming product launches, with the more interesting one being the 4th generation Ivy Bridge-E CPUs for its HEDT platform, slated for Q3 2013. These will bring all the improvements found in the current Ivy Bridge CPUs such as 22nm Tri-Gate transistors and greater overall efficiency and performance to Intel's premium enthusiast platform. IB-E will feature 6-12 cores (IB-E/EP) large amounts of cache, quad channel memory controllers supporting 8 GB of DDR3-1066/1333/1600/1866 per DIMM slot, along with PCI-E 3.0 (40 lanes) and 4 lanes supporting PCI-E 2.0. It's believed that four CPUs will be launched, bearing the following names: Core i7-4930, Core i7-4960, Core i7-4970 and Core i7-4990.

Image

The CPUs will be compatible with the Socket LGA 2011 and X79 chipset platform and while the clock speeds and TDP aren't known, the TDP is expected to be around the current Sandy Bridge-E level. One can only hope that the inferior heatspreader that current Ivy Bridge CPUs are saddled with causing them to run hotter and significantly reducing overclocking ability will be replaced for the extreme enthusiast grade IB-E CPUs by the superior soldered one found on the earlier Sandy Bridge CPUs. It would be a slap in the face to customers paying so much money for a premium product otherwise.

The other product launch will be better versions of the current Sandy Bridge-E chips, slated for Q2 2013. These are expected to feature higher clock speeds, but the most interesting part will be the first 8 core consumer CPU from Intel, the Core i7-3980X Extreme Edition. Expect to pay dearly for it.

Anywhere local selling that case? I normally like full tower cases but thinking of getting something smaller to swap my parts to.

I have this full tower now, Thermaltake Armour Plus.

Nah, the stock black ones that come with the old h100.

They cooling nice but the noise a bit unbearable. Will have to control them via the board's software to balance off the noise and rpms.

Looking fwd to see how it turn out. You should replace them corsair fan with some scythe ap-15's, using those on my rad, excellent static pressure + very quiet even on full. They lil pricy tho but worth it
