Bad thing about colorful snail in reef systems is that after awhile all that beauty gets covered up with purplish/pinkish coralline. All my pretty orange chestnut turbo snails and my bumble bee snails all have coralline on them. They look real good though

They never stayed in the tank long enough for them to munch on the zoas. Was not even sure if there are reef safe I tried them before I had much corals some years ago.

It all depends on the size and type of clowns. Most clowns are aggressive and are very territorial in small tanks. A 40gal is very small and you cant keep much fish. Cant give you an amount cause its all dependant on the size of the fish. Many colorful fish are territorial also. Fishes like tangs and large angels need space and get very large. They need space to swim. Damsels, most wrasses and blennies are out. You might only be able to keep about 4-5 small non aggressive fish. Remember the more fish you put, you're gonna feed more which is more bioload you're going to have. Then youre gonna need a small hang on protein skimmer.

Never heard of them before so I really cant answer. You will have to see how the spread is. Cant say if it might grow corals either. Remember your tank is 24" high so you don't know what will be the PAR readings at the sand bed. As it states, its 7000K. I'm running 8 - 10,000K T5 bulbs on my 4ft frag tank (only use 4) and my reef tank its 12,000K. Both are growing corals real good

This is pics from my frag tank. You have to have real good lighting to grow corals. To strong and you could burn them, Too mild and you'll have them stretching for the light and then eventually start to dwindle then maybe die.
Many corals are not for beginners. Your parameters need to be right. Did you buy the test kit to check your parametes?

Cool then. You may have to do some more research on that lighting you have. There are so much lighting on the market right now. Unless you know someone locally that using it to grow corals effectively you'll have to try and see whats happening. 1 may not be efficient. Who knows, you may need up to 4 maybe (just saying). How many LED's does it have on one strip

or I thought was the 7000K version you bought. As you see there are 3 versions.
Then you may be good to go. Think you will need another strip or 2 because when you place rocks
in the tank you'll get a lot shadowing.

Pumps and lights generate heat which in turn heats the water. Is this temp (78-82) with the lights on during the day? Is the protein skimmer, return pump and other powerhead/s running when these temps were taken? Saw you plan that you might be running bio-pellets and i'm not to sure about your plans on a phosbhan reactor. All this generates heat. Saw you asked the question before about using tap water. Hope you didn't. And that includes blue waters and/or similar. If so, you're in one hell of a algae problem you're gonna get in the next few wks. Hope your salinity is in check.
