Lunch today:

Image

Vietnamese Pho without noodles (per my request). Has lean flank steak, cilantro, bean sprouts, pimento peppers, green onions, mint leaves in a broth. Yummy!

Anybody uses fitbit?
Their website allows you to log in for free and you can track calories that way too. It allows you to create templates so you can add presets for our local foods.

@1UZE, I got it at a local place here. I unfortunately am not in Trinidad (yet!). You can totally make this on your own, though, I understand the flank steak can be expensive. You can substitute for another protein (ie chicken, chicken foot, meatballs). P.S., I love chicken foot! LOL.

@Alltrac, I think without the noodles I am looking at no more than 5-600 calories for this serving size (or at least I hope so, lol). The pho stock is 70 calories and one serving/bowl of no noodle pho is 215. Anyway, its a welcomed change from eating my salads daily.

And LOL @ voodoo doll! As you can see, she has the plaited braids/natural hair just like me!

P.S. It's quite interesting to note that many Asian communities eat broth soups and drink tea (green) on a daily basis and generally have a more healthier and longer life span than those in the Western world. Maybe they've found the key to healthier living, after all.

whatever speed is safe to come to a stop and run backwards, which might work out to slightly above jogging speed

They have a lot of local food in their database containing the exact calorific content and portion sizes which is more specific to what we eat including, crix, arawak chicken, kiss bread etc etc.

Aside from that theyre basically the same though.

Hey I cud back up d my fitnesspal, I got d app on my fone an it does wonders, it has d widest variety of foods an exercise an tells exactly how much nutrition fact each food has. It keeps track of my weight an tracks my progress accurately, I guarantee u won't go rong wit this app

I have the previous fitbit tracker. It's like the Ultra minus the ability to identify stairs. It's a decent pedometer that shows calories burnt, steps taken and pretty decently measures how well you sleep. Not a bad investment to keep one motivated as you can set and keep track of how you compare with your goals.

Currently I am debating getting their wifi scale but the reviews haven't been so great. Might go with a Withings Wifi Body Scale as a way to easily track weight as well as body fat as I have no way to measure the latter currently.
