Saw this today by a WHO rep...makes sense

"If you don't test, you don't find. And if you don't test, you are blinded. If you don't test, you are not ahead of the curve," Nkengasong said.

How far are we from the Vaccine? anybody keeping track of that?

Fauci already warned that this will be seasonal, Covid isn't going anywhere without a vaccine and so we can't reopen without the vaccine.

So when is the Vaccine?

The man in charge of the Vaccine search/creation in the US was basically fired from his post, when asked by the media about it, the president said he doesnt know who they were referring to and he doesnt know the person.

prob next year at least

Moderna is one of leaders so far and they are going to start proper trials in fall this year
started limited trials already
even if they approved by end of year there is the manufacturing aspect which will be colossal effort

everytime they do trials its a good few months to make sure the vaccine aint kill none of the guinea pig ppl

Stuarty is just a easy nut to crack.

Those 33 pests are just as irresponsible as the other jackasses begging to come in.

If our borders are closed, there should be no discussions for exemptions.

Under no circumstances should we mix sympathy with irresponsibility in a pandemic.

Agreed

I love the honesty in Cuomo, one of the very rare interviews you will ever see with any politician being this honest

Cuomo is probably the best person hands down to lead the Democratic Party, like literally Joe Biden is such a joke that people are begging Cuomo to run for President, they know fully well sleepy Joe is going to get tossed into the trash when he goes up against Trump.

But the DNC is too corrupt to elect people like Cuomo or Bernie, they need special establishment people they can control like pedophile Biden.

Those 33 are privedlged people. They have the means to get here both legally and transport.

There is human vaccine testing being done today as was indicated earlier this week.

Off course testing a vaccine is really like bare foundation of it all.

What do you think will be the outcome with this? would there be a way to speed it up once they get some early results on how effective it is or will they still have to go through the full process of 18 months?

In this case 18 months is a really long time to wait if you add the 5 months prior to this that means an almost 2 YEARS lockdown on a pandemic worldwide. 3rd world countries will turn into Venezuela by then, it isn't possible to wait that long given the circumstances.

Yeh if any of those 33 test positive i’m pretty sure you will hush your stink trini mentality little kant.

You are the example why there is no direction in T&T.
These 33 pests chose to disregard safety measures by going on their lil cheap price cruise. How come you didn’t tag along?

Soldier, why allyuh Trinis always looking for a bligh when allyuh do nonsense? Always have a excuse and a cry and a makeup story. These people should have realized they were negligent and WAIT until the borders are open rather than crying and lying.

But ur a coonoomoonoo Trini so you wont understand that. You’re one of those that will fight down to the last second not to wear a mask in public. One of those who will go out just to challenge the TTPS in roadblocks and rub in their face that they cannot charge you. One of those that invades the space of those wanting to stay 6ft apart.

Its people like you that make T&T sick. Now go spread your germs in some crowds.

perhaps not a strict lockdown like now but that is to stifle the virus- then ease it a bit by allowing businesses to reopen as long as it doesn't involve gatherings i.e. bars, cinemas, dine-in, etc. and enforce work-from-home wherever possible. churches, sporting events would have to wait a while as well. borders should remain closed as well, at least to foreigners, and only allow nationals who are actually residing in the country to come back- not everyone who have a passport.

Know? Who wants to “know” anyone?

When someone gets murdered, do you want to “know” the criminal? You dense?

These annoying Trinis chose their distasteful path and then pestered both T&T and Barbados, endangering the lives of those willing to fight this pandemic, not galavant and party....fight.

Hilaire: 75% salary cut for Cabinet of Ministers not voluntary
SHAREFIL GAILLARD CREATED : 22 APRIL 2020

As the tug of war continues about public servant salaries, statements were made from within government that the Cabinet of Ministers had voluntarily agreed to a 75% salary cut.

Image

Dr Ernest Hilaire has disputed that claim, stating that it was an automatic salary cut and it was not voluntary.

“There is no decision by cabinet to agree to a 75% cut in their salary. That’s misleading.”

He said that ministers falling within Grades 19-21 will automatically receive a 75% pay cut, they do not get to decide if they receive a pay cut or not.

“As a parliamentarian, those of us who are not ministers, we fall in the middle band, so automatically there is a 50/50, it is not a voluntary decision.”

Hilaire said if cabinet wants to take a 75% cut then they should say whether or not civil servants will receive a salary cut. He said if that is the case, then elected MPs are prepared to take a salary cut.

Prime Minister Allen Chastanet told reporters on Tuesday, "There’s no cut that is being proposed, we are paying the civil servants their salaries. We are paying the civil servants part in cash and part in bonds. It's a one-year bond."

Ahead of Tuesday’s sitting of the House of Parliament, Commerce Minister, Bradley Felix, disclosed that discussions regarding pay cuts for parliamentarians were in its advanced stages, which would cause the Cabinet of Ministers to take home 25% of their salaries.

Rumours about civil servants taking a 50% pay cut have been circulating, however, the Government of Saint Lucia and the various unions are still in discussion on the matter.

According to a letter sent to the trade unions from the Government, the following is proposed:

• Workers in Grades 1-7 receive 100% of their salaries

• Workers in Grades 8-18 receive 50% of their salary in cash and 50% in the form of a Government investment bond (For 3 months)

• Workers in Grades 19-21 receive 25% of their salary in cash and 75% in the form of a Government bond (For 3 months)

• Government pensioners receive 100% of their monthly pension

St Lucia Cabinet agree to 75% salary cut in face of economic crisis
SHAREFIL GAILLARD CREATED : 22 APRIL 2020

Saint Lucia’s Cabinet of Ministers has agreed to a 75% salary reduction to help tackle the COVID-19 economic crisis, Loop News confirmed Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

Ahead of Tuesday’s sitting of the House of Parliament, Commerce Minister, Bradley Felix, disclosed that discussions regarding pay cuts for parliamentarians were in advanced stages, which would cause the Cabinet of Minister to take home 25% of their salaries.

“The parliamentarians were the first on the block as it relates to that,” Felix told reporters Tuesday, noting, “It is across the board.”

Discussions between the Government of Saint Lucia and trade unions who represent the public sector workers have been making rounds on social media platforms as the various parties negotiate salary payments for workers over the next three months amid the COVID-19 crisis.

According to documents from the Ministry of Finance, which has been circulating in the public domain, government’s monthly revenue has dropped from $110 million monthly to about $30 million over the last 2 months that COVID-19 has been affecting the island.

This has therefore created a cash flow crisis for the Government, which has to pay civil servants salaries of $43 million a month whilst also servicing debt payments of approximately $40 million a month.

“The unions were also given the opportunity to come up with various options which has not actually materialized, they have been given some additional time for us to discuss all of these options. It is one of those moments where it is extremely trying times and we have to try to think out of the box how we can deal with the shortfall in revenue,” Felix said.

Many world leaders are taking unique steps to handle the unprecedented situation.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced that she and other top government officials would take a 20% pay cut during the coronavirus pandemic.

Rwanda's cabinet of ministers will donate their April salaries to the coronavirus fight.

The salaries of members of government, members of parliament, government advisors and directors of government-owned companies in Aruba would be taking a 10% pay cut amid the crisis, until December 31, 2020.

Although negotiations are still underway with trade unions, Loop News has been reliably informed by senior Government officials that the Cabinet of Ministers who do not form part of a trade union, have agreed amongst themselves to take a 75% salary reduction as part of efforts to help with Governments cash flow issues due to COVID-19.

Gladiator wrote:So just a basic deduction timeline of Mr. Leon's movements... and to chook the discussion cause I bored

5th Feb - Mr. Leon Comes to T&T for Carnival
25th to 26th Feb - Carnival
6th March - He starts feeling ill
8th March - Very Ill
12th March - T&T's first COVID Confirmed Case
13th March - Leon Admitted to Couva Hospital
25th March - Mr Leon Died

Scenario 1 : Imported case - Possible incubation time = 21+ days incubation
Scenario 2 : Local Transmission (but from whom)

Possible Conclusions:

1. This was an imported case from a person that came in for Carnival. In that case it could be treated as isolated with or without no further transmission.

2. This was a locally transmission case that could result in other cases being present out there. But who did he contract it from since the first confirmed case was Imported (stressed alot by the authorities for the public's pacification) that was confirmed 6 days after Mr. Leon started feeling ill.

Now there is a paper written about outlier incubation periods of up to 27 days.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-chin ... SKCN20G06W

I for one would prefer that this was an isolated imported case pre-carnival with a 20+ day incubation than a locally transmitted case.

"He said exemptions are continuing in strict ways and he gets scores of calls daily- and in the case of people on cruise ships, hundreds of calls. "
"The minister said the 33 people who were stranded in Barbados and were allowed to return home yesterday were in a very different category."

:?

Stuarty is just a easy nut to crack.

Those 33 pests are just as irresponsible as the other jackasses begging to come in.

If our borders are closed, there should be no discussions for exemptions.

Under no circumstances should we mix sympathy with irresponsibility in a pandemic.

One of the Bajan 33 take your gyul/man or deny you poo c or Peni$??

Your preoccupation with them is unhealthy.

Now go spread your germs in some crowds.

if the 33 test positive, it would be at least 7 days from now cause they would have contracted it at a local facility.
if super genius goebbels young did let them come from the start of the ordeal, they would be at home locking down like every other citizen.
