and now apparently a umpire in Israel got hit in the jaw with a ricochet ball and has died from the blow. Dang......seems like umpires need to gear up like batsmen to do their job now....RIP

The Aus India series would have this greater significance with Phil Hughes death. Maybe the Aussies will raise their intensity to honour their mate. Would hate to be the one facing Johnson in a worked up state.

West Indies first class season is depressing. Today Guyana chasing 69 to win are bowled out for 66. Dwayne Smith the chief wrecker :? :?
Trinidad and Tobago has made about 3 scores of 130.
If regional batsman can't bat a session or two of Nikita Miller, Ryan Hinds, Imran Khan, Permaul, Gabriel, Cotterel etc. how will they ever go out there and bat against Steyn, Johnson, Anderson etc.

Clearly he has made his choice of money over WI so now the WI have to make the choice and start blooding his replacement. No more picking a youth and dropping him when Gayle feels to play.
We already very rarely ever win so its not as if Gayle is a big match winner in ODIs or Tests.

Michael Clarke - 128......India fortunate rain save them from a full day of pasting.
Clarke 28 hundreds; 27 50s. Only other batsmen to have more hundreds than 50s all Aussies, Bradman and Hayden.

India's historical poor 4th innings batting away from home means Australia can declare on their overnight score and go for the victory on the final day.
Tremendous show that a match that has essentially had 1 day lost to rain has had so much runs scored.

It's been a long time coming, you saw how it flared up when he dived to catch shami in the first innings. I mean he really can't carry on like that forever and the damage or implications it would have on him in his later years. Pup is a legend and no one could fault him if he decides to close curtains now.

Putting down my prediction now. WI to get a whitewash. South Africa in transition is still too powerful and too much of a unified side to be beaten by this WI side.
