I woulda say they would lose money over that but since AMD said they won't be making competing desktop processors again, users may not have a choice but to accept what intel giving them.

May not go over well with the overclocking community since they mostly like to test/bin their own cpus and stuff.

Bess! They still have grub handling multi-OS? Snags go laugh if i mention grub. :lol:

Honestly, for desktop windows8 is... bleh. Unless you have a touch device. Do a check for all your drivers etc. for windows 8 too. Shouldn't be an issue for you though.

Also, KMS for windows 8 only activates for 180 days or is it 90 days... so if you ain't legit... find an XP key, then do an upgrade from xp using windows 8 upgrade assistant and get a Pro key.

@2NR Smurf
Nice stuff meng (Y)

@HCCA
That sucks imo
I think that there would be less variety of motherboards to choose from unless Companies are willing to make a motherboard with every single BGA CPU on it :| This would be a good opportunity for AMD to get on top though...they should rethink their strategy...

^830 128GB. I kid you not i, got the very last one from Amazon for $100. Desktop upgrade kit too. So at that time it was the best buy i could have gotten. The kingston 120GB i got for $70 on a lightening deal... surprisingly i dont think even 30% were claimed by the time the deal expired.

I was initially going with a Vertex 4 myself. Its supposed to have some incredible read/write speeds now thanks to firmware updates.

Thank you. That wouldn't be that bad, unless shipping company decides on jacking it up more for some reason.
