Yea never saw the need to invest in a water pump because getting water is the norm, if water ever went in the past it's usually for a few hours at most then back to full pressure. Looks like going forward I'll have to invest in a decent water pump as our public utilities start going to the dogs more and more with each passing day.

lol u now migrate to Trinidad or something?
If you not going to use the pump so often, I mean it have cheap pumps that can work for you without spending a big set of money. Since you say you really never needed one before. Just put it on a switch to turn on when water gone. Run it once a week to wash a load of clothes.

I have the same issue where I always get water but have a tank to fill from so never invested in a pump. Honestly if I buy a pump it would get use maybe twice a year.

I was calling around and a Gould's is in the 3-4k range where the Pentax and Pedrollo are around 2k. These are for 3/4hp.

The Leo with the stainless impeller housing is 1.2k.

These are all with pressure tank setups.

Nice to see some pump talk. I recently did some work home and took down my water tank from its stand. It's now on a base but not high enough for gravity fed supply anymore.

Already run electrical for a pump but haven't yet bought one. Is a Tank or tankless better?

Not to boast but I took down the tank over a month now and haven't yet got around to hooking up the intake and in that time water has never gone by me. Low pressure a few times but never a complete loss of water.

Well, I have to use old technology. I knock the tank to hear where the water is.

I have a backup 400 locked off for just this reason
I also have a light which comes on when no water in the mains
using a oil pressure sensor.

Yes bai. Never had such a long period of no water EVER.

And it still has not come back as yet. People without tanks under real pressure. It will take 3 working days to get truck-borne water!

u don't have a tank?

Did you see my statement about truck-borne water? Tank almost empty.
Join the club consisting of the majority of south who make do with 1 or 2 days per week. State sponsored banditry.

Difference with me is when water goes for more than one day, I start making phone calls and writing people.

I don't know how people can pay for a service, not get it and be happy.

u usually get water 24/7 i take it?

cuz by me my 2 1000 gallon tanks always on and having no water in the main is the norm like 75% of the time so no sensor needed

I normally get water 24/7 most of the time. But since the beginning of June and rainy season, it going EVERY FLIPPIN DAY.

Heard a rumour this morning that the work was incomplete because of a part that wasa needs to order,.then dismissed the rumor because at times like this everybody has a rumour to heat up your blood.

A short while ago Wasa updated their Facebook page claiming repairs are still ongoing due to 'unforeseen circumstances' and announcing a press release at 10 a.m. today....

Now really, after claiming earlier in the week that the problem was fixed and service was to be restored almost 48 hours ago, any rumor appears to have more credibility than Wasa.

The other day I saw a set-up for the first time by my inlaws. They have a metal pole one a float. So as the water levels rise or falls the pole moves up and down the top of the tanl. That's how they know the tank levels.
They bought the house with the tank like that so they can't say where it came from.

Dunno why or how, but a pathetic trickle is coming through in my service sink.

That's better than nothing. I have a third of my 1000 gallon remaining so that trickle is for minor things and toilet flushing.

from ever since chaguanas always has water 2407 95% of d time, long time no need for pump but past 10yrs d pressure is too low to reach upstairs so hadda store water in tanks & alot of d times pump it up

is trinidad we living in, u must have at least a wk of storage tank capacity to cater for 1-2 times during d year for desal plant cleaning or d occasional leaking\ruptured pipe somewhere in d country

it not a nice experience to go even 1 day without bathing & all d other daily stuff we use water for granted ...

Amen to that. Trying to conserve the remaining water has made me relive how things were before installing the tank almost a decade ago.

You feel listless and greasy. Worse off this time around with a toddler in the equation.
