Yeah....Easy way out is to blame PNM and UNC will obviously be our savior. The Water taxi worked perfectly on the POS/SANDO route for months but catches fire when it tries to return from Tobago why didn't it catch fire on its way to Tobago all the boats are identical why didn't all catch fire at sometime?

Something fishy pun intended about this whole thing seems like there are folks with set agendas for political sabotage maybe they are based in Tobago. Water Taxi left Trinidad fine returned from Tobago broken the only people with access to the boats was the Tobago port workers. maybe the trade union is not happy or a crazy port worker is on a rampage maybe the water taxis was used as bait to flush out the truth about the source of the craziness.

Elections drawing near again all these Hidden figures will try their hardest to make the Government look bad even if it means risking peoples lives and wasting Taxpayers money.

Not discrediting the possibility of that but what if it was simply due to poor management (operations and maintenance) as is typically symptomatic of a declining economy and reactive culture? Or at least that being a big part to play meaning it was somewhat intentional for ulterior gain (as is symptomatic of corruption).

Well evidence of the failure will show if its maintenance or human action.

In either case, a proper investigation needs to be done and measures put in place to PREVENT IT'S RECOURANCE in the future... Failure due to lack of maintenance is just as nefarious as sabotage.

This is Trinidad lack of maintenance will always be with us its a daily norm but hardly ever do we see everthing breaking at once. See video of the M.V. Panorama looking like a brand new ferry in another country sold because of unwillingness to fix it.

Has to be secret group doing sabotage and making it look like lack of maintenance.

As for poor maintenance that is a none issue here. See how police cars, ambulances, ptsc busses, schools, hospitals basically anything publicly owned allowed to run down because money to buy new equipment comes without costs attached. Nobody seems to care to fix that problem we all point it out but whatever just use the political blame game and sell for almost nothing in auction , throw away or make artificial reefs and buy new ones.

it is unfortunate that they keep highlighting long lines of disgruntled standby passengers at the airport
as though it is CAL's fault.

The air bridge was designed for a certain capacity of passengers
obviously if the demand for air travel is now quadrupled there must be ticket/standby problems

so to keep highlighting the congestion on the air bridge now that the ferry is no more is absurd

Come like a school that has two maxis that does a shuttle for them. One breaks down and they tell the parents not to worry that they have made alternate arrangements for the kids to be transported.. That time they just tell the other driver to double up on his trips.
