One of the divers still trapped is Kazim Ali Jr. The Managing Director of LMCS is Kazim Ali. Therefore, I assume one of the trapped divers is his son.

Why would he make such a statement in the press release from Paria if, as everyone else seems to be saying, Paria is handling the situation incompetently?

If it were my son there, and I knew my company was not at fault for the mishap, I wouldn’t be making such a statement.

No mix up, I have a faint memory of them trying to get into that industry and yes with the same name ..

Not sure if they were ever successful or if it's them here though..

*Now realizing it's the new Paria fuel entity and not some Paria Contractor..

Wasn't really paying attention, too much bad news in the place can't take on all.

Wait till people find out that the Board of Directors (most) of Paria have zero qualifications in oil & gas/energy matters.

Paria: Missing divers are dead

Paria chairman Newman George has confirmed that missing divers Fyzal Kurban, Kazim Ali Jr, Rishi Nagassar and Yusuf Henry are dead.

The announcement was made just moments ago at the company’s Pointe-a-Pierre staff club.

The men were sucked into a 36-inch pipeline on Friday while doing maintenance work.

Newman said the mission has moved from one of rescue to one of recovery of the bodies.

Look through the thread, there is a youtube video about Delta P which explains how most incidents occur.

Difference with Delta P and our scenario is....no rescue team was ever sent to retrieve those guys.

That's what the person who was venting said.
Any statement made by Paria was to make the company look good.

Damn horrific and a shame what happened to the divers. RIP.

RIP to these 4 gentlemen. They perished in the line of duty to provide for their family and themselves. Their jobs are very dangerous and better precautions ought to have been practiced in the first place. This would be an example used in OHSE classrooms throughout this country, the region and the world.

We can only hope a thorough and proper investigation is done so that this unfortunate incident is not repeated ever again.

Praying for the loved ones to stay strong and don't be hasty to pursue legal recourse just yet. Gather as much facts as possible and then execute the cases.

Board appointees are usually always supporters being compensated for their past actions.

Plenty times they have nothing to do with the industry or board they appointed to.

This one real gonna bite them in their ass though.

I was now about to ask this same thing. A man who used to side hustle with maths lessons in the 90s is now on a board of directors of an oil company. Ok then

What really angers me the most is that these men were screaming for their lives, divers were available to help, but Paria site managers prevented a rescue and the help of the Coast Guard. Now they want to flush them out, breaking apart their bodies. Blood on all their hands. This won't be the end of it.

st7 wrote:PEA would do anything to be relevant oui

If it wasn't for PEA and his team, this would not have been widely publicized. PEA may have his political motives, but he was on the scene since Friday.

And if you're going to call out PEA, also call out Stuart Young who randomly made a presence on behalf of the government, but did NOTHING to help escalate the situation. The media also lied about Paria providing help when it was actually fellow divers who intervened to try and rescue as many as they could. The family members have been camped out for over 72 hours, and local businessmen and PEA has helped in sponsoring food, drinks, tables, chairs and portable bathrooms for those desperately seeking answers.
