They said you have to wait at least 6 months to consider a change in limit. Can't remember if he said it was 6 months or a year. :?
For them to grant 250 limit seems you have little relations with the bank as they give credit to who they know and also your financial background


Maybe because I wasn't vaccinated at the time. Vaccinated folks gets a higher limit.
Unvaccinated with 4500US limit checking in

Nah didn't withdraw it, they converted the money to TTD and deposited straight into my TTD account.

They would have converted at the bank rate which means you ended up with less value than you had.
I know someone else whose card expired and they wanted to get the USD but couldnt.

Only had a few USD in the VTM card though, no more than $5

Discontinuation of the Visa Electron Platform
VTM-VGC-discontinue.png


Effective August 31, 2024, all Visa Travel Money (VTM) Cards and Visa Gift Cards pictured above will be discontinued and will no longer be functional.

This means that if you are in possession of any of the Visa Travel Money (VTM) Cards or Visa Gift Cards pictured above, you will be required to visit one of our branches to avail of one of the options below on or before August 30, 2024.

Visa Gift Cards
1. Cash Out funds on card in TT$ only
2. Deposit to any TT$ Republic Bank Chequing or Savings Account
3. Load funds to the new Visa Gift Card - Purchase fee to be waived
Visa Travel Money Cards
1. Cash Out funds on card in TT$ only at the Selling Rate of exchange
2. Balance transfer to a US$ account domiciled at Republic Bank Limited
3. Deposit to any TT$ Republic Bank Chequing or Savings Account at the Selling Rate of exchange

Additionally, you do have the option to apply for a Republic Bank credit card, subject to the bank’s normal lending criteria.

Please note that our new Visa Gift Cards (as seen below) are still available for purchase and will continue to be functional.

anyone actually was able to get the visa gift cards recently? when i enquired about it 3 years ago when my vtm card expired i was told i couldn't get any.
