The cruise control adaptive? or you have to mash the brakes for the car when something in-front is approaching?

I don't have that feature but there is a section on it in the owners manual. Don't think any of the two versions here have it as well. I'd check again tomorrow. Still had no time to check on the cruise control.

Day 2. POS to Mt St Benedict. Then to La Horquetta. Then POS. Then Santa Cruz. Then back to POS. Just touched 200km as I pulling in the yard. Once again, Car performed well. Got to 120km/h this morning without even noticing. Still quiet at those speeds. Noticed the electric motor in use at 75km/h as well. Wasn't decelerating. So that's weird. Thought it only went to 55km/h. Tomorrow the car will begin the POS to Woodbrook journey in back to school traffic. Let's see if I use any gas at all. Other notables, Sound system is decent. Rear view mirror shakes a lot for stock speakers. Eventually I'd consider changing them for some pro mids. Waiting to see if anyone else in the world installs a sub or amp. Might have to run direct from battery at the back. The car also turns heads. Had a couple things done to the car yesterday and it made a huge difference appearance wise. Love the DRLs. (Got a fog light exemption from Massy). Wish I could use them with the low beams at night but that's gonna be an issue for oncoming traffic. If I do want to use them at night, They come on with the park lights. Only bright enough to work at well lit streets. Very smooth ride as well. Still noticing the slight delay on acceleration from a stop. Rushing oncoming traffic is a huge NO in this car. The parking assist is great. Both front and rear parking sensors. The clarity of the rear view camera is also superb at nights. Still have to learn to parallel park it. But I don't plan on making any kinda extra runs this week. Work then home. Maybe food. But that's about it.

Would try to update this daily. TRY. And I'd answer any questions you might have to the best of my knowledge.

You know what I think this car misses? Mud/Splash guards. They have the screws in place for them but they aren't there. The other model doesn't have them either. However, I did notice that the 2016/2017 Elantra mud guards look like they would fit from just looking at the mounting area on both cars. And since Ioniq aftermarket parts are nonexistent right now, I'm Planning on purchasing a set on Amazon for $27US and trying them out. Or maybe if I can get a set off a local Elantra that would be great. No way in hell I'm going to Massy to try and pay through the ass for that. I'd let you know what I end up doing soon enough.

I didn't think I'd fit in it either. Cause I'm 6"6". And I do.

I'd probably post a couple pics later.

The backseat head room was limited but the front seat should be good.

Interested in knowing the net impact on running costs after factoring in savings on gas, increased electric bill etc.

You'd get universal splash guards locally, that they can line up to fit OEM if the shop is good. Seen one place do it with a ciaz and i was surprised by how original it looked.

I went rally armor URs on my van though 8)

5.2??? Dang my civic gets around that unless I thrash it. Even did 4.8 from Sandoz to chaguanas the other day. Highway with no traffic.

I guess where the Ioniq would excel is in traffic and urban areas. I get high 6es in urban driving.

The car is basically gonna be doing POS to Avenue driving during peak hours in the week. Not going to get much highway use any time soon. So I'd be monitoring it over time.

Guy in work has one, he says he gets 1000km on it no problem, but he don't really drive hard, so I suspect that's mostly electric being used

I think I'd eventually get around 950km. Still monitoring. Average is now reading 6.7l/100km. So it's definitely seems to be going up as the daily routine takes over. Was hoping for more traffic actually. Now at 250km.

So all the charging is done by the engine running at idle or lowish speeds ?

Car charges itself in park if left on for more than 5mins or if the battery is getting too low. Noticed this only recently. You hear a small buzz for about a minute or 2 then stops. Also charges when braking, if you take your foot off the acceleration or going down hill. If you put it in park, touching the accelerator would also allow it to charge.

is there a way to get an approximation of how long it can drive at the lower speeds where the gas engine would not take over ?

Might as well do the Day 4 update.

Did I say how quiet it is? Coming from a car that wasn't necessarily loud except for the music and engine/road noise, the difference is huge. I really wish this model had VESS. The virtual engine sound. (Saw it in the owners manual). Its so quiet, you'd have your back turned to it, And it will sneak up on you. I'm really scared to hit pedestrians. If they aren't paying attention, they'd never know it's coming. Everyone who has seen it or been in it thus far can't get over how quiet it is. Was hearing a rattling on braking, But it just turned out to be the tow hooks from shipping weren't fastened in the trunk space by whomever detailed the car. I like the driver only AC option. Also seems the music is louder on the driver side when it's turned on but I could be paranoid as well. The Bluetooth connection works well and the call quality is amazing. The fact that the car is so quiet, you can lie and say you're at the office when you're not. Not that I have used this excuse, but if needed be... It's there. However, one small issue is the rear windshield. It's small. Made even smaller by the spoiler that cuts it in half. Would get used to it eventually. So far, So good. I love it.

If there is, I haven't encountered it yet. But what I have noticed is this, If you're using the car in traffic, For instance I'm stuck in traffic from Sea Lots to the Stadium, I'd use the Electric motor 98% of the way. The other 2%, Would be the car switching to the gas engine to charge the battery up to 50% so it can be in use again. Cause then the car wouldn't be generating enough charge by braking in traffic. Also noticed that at times, If you are heavy on the gas from a stop, the car starts off with the Electric motor, and then switches to gas from around 20-50km/h if you're still heavy on the gas pedal. But if you let up off the gas, switches back to Electric mode. So if for example you need to put your foot down, the gas engine will take over. And then there's Sport mode that uses both the electric and gas if needed be.

Rep said first one should be at 5000km or 6mths whichever comes first. And according to the owners manual, Service at 15000km intervals.

That seems to match what i see on the internet . 10000 miles (16000 km). It will be great if it is that .Total cost of ownership will be quite a bit lower compared to 5000km service intervals
