Duane according to the website posted above, yes. It says "polymer modified". Both have the same portland cement and sand otherwise.

that's rather vague though. Which polymer/s did they ad to modify it?

Heck, that could mean they put styrofoam in it! lol

Lol I agree with you totally. Doesn't necessarily mean it's the same chemical formula as the Poly V. However many seem to be using it with success.
I only now remembered my tileman used it when laying ceramic tiles on our porch floor which was previously painted and had to be chipped. That was more than 5 years ago and it has stood up well since then.
I'm really intrigued to see how well it stands up to porcelain tile though as it could lower costs considerably.

X_Factor, any updates for us?

It was for a large covered patio area and the factory they bought it from advised them that they could use mortar (just cement, sand and some poly v added) instead of thinset to lower costs. It's only been a few months but it's holding up so far.
To Tile Expression Ltd especially, is this advisable to do? The mortar was used as grout too, out of convenience.

Clay tiles are highly porous since they are not glazed, they absorb the moisture quickly and bonds well. That's why mortar with Poly V is suitable.

The joints /tile spaces should be wide because clay tiles are variable in dimension due to traditional method of manufacture - extruding, cutting and baking.
