yuh doh think ARc would then get a "permanent" tenant? yuh know like TTASA was at wallerfield.

Broadly speaking under the MV&RT Act a road is defined as any open area where the public is allowed access conditionally or unconditionally.

The officers should've stopped the event based on that instead of saying it's a crime hotspot.

So basically, written permission from comm of police or salt.. :(

^ Yep but the police wouldn't cancel without some other outside input.

If they believed that holding the event may cause some type of problem re: crime they would recommend an adequate strength of officers to maintain order at the event (you would have to pay for those officer) The fact that it was just cancelled without that option points at some outside contributing factor.

so this event / family day was stopped by those that uphold the law....

how come the family day that took place in lieu of the AGP wasn't?

the saddest part of this would be the young ones that didn't get to race their hearts out in their go karts

Even in a private space. It is a private carpark.
The public does not have access to the "track".
Persons who register to race do. Majority are member in CARS case.
So if membership has to be a requirement then, would members using the "track" be exempt from such?

Nope. The public is allowed 'conditionally' eg payment of fee, becoming a competitor etc.

Aren't spectators allowed at the event? Failing to see your point.

well from the angle of the "track" being the area of the private carpark, which the public (spectators) DON'T have any access too. Only members.

The event will be looked upon as a whole, not at specific demarcations.
Plus being a member is a stipulation.

Cool scene. now had a lil time to check the mvrta mehself.
http://rgd.legalaffairs.gov.tt/laws2/alphabetical_list/lawspdfs/48.50.pdf
sees 63. which doesn't contain the wording private road as seen and defined in 64 regarding erecting of traffic signs. page 55
so one combines the other? sigh.

A ill more thought,
So an unfenced piece of property adjacent to a road is considered the road because the public can pass through it to access whatever may lie on the other side of its boundaries?

You ask about sponsors? They are thoroughly impressed when they see the following Events cancelled in 2014:
(1) ARA on 12th Jan. – Police did come and shut this down on the morning of Event.- suggested that ARA did not get permission from OC, North Eastern Division – since confirmed as crap.
(2) TTKA Event carded for 19th Jan. Word did get back that this event would be shut down. TTKA noted that they could ill-afford to lose even the set up costs and cancelled.
(3) NARA Drag Racing at Camden on 26th Jan. Pub. Liability withdrawn. New Insurance obtained elsewhere. Then barriers removed from Camden. Police came with “henchman”. Official from Comm. of State Lands were also present when this was unfolding.
(4) ARA Test and Tune at ARC on 26th Jan. cancelled as a threat was also made against this Event.
(5) The TTASA AGP Event on 26th Jan. carded for Larry Gomes Stadium. Police withdrew permission on Friday 24th Jan – ostensibly because the area was a “Hot-Spot”. Or nasty backlash?
(6) TTKA event on the 9th Feb. - hotspot!

We see the initiatives of those who say they want to build motor racing in T&T, and match the Caribbean, having an incredible effect. We must be looking real good!

So how come the CARS BYCC on 2nd Feb. was not interfered with.... maybe because certain people took part in the Family day at LG Stadium?
And the collateral damage/fallout to competitors who would have negotiated new and increased sponsorship, may have already been paid by sponsors, and nothing to show to date.

Who is looking bad? The competitors? The organizers?
Who does not care?

Maybe if the next event is wrongfully shut down, someone can submit a report to a news channel's 'citizen journalist'-type segment. After highlighting the problem on a national and public level, maybe then solid answers can be found as to what is exactly going on and who is responsible for these 'crackdowns.'

And now added to this list is ARA D&W#2 carded for 16th Feb. at ARC.

So is the individual(s) responsible for directly blocking these events have any self respect or ethics?
Youre blocking a sport that young people participate in due to your overzealous ignorant thurst for a show of power?
Are you really that much of an insecure small toteeed imbicil?
Whoever you are you should be permenantly EXPELLED from any form of motorsport or karting participation when this is all over.
