Suffering some 'blips' in my area in Couva for a few hours now.
This apart from other issues with communication service providers and others suggest that we just holding on by a thread during this pandemic.

Went for about 30 minutes today. Tomorrow is 8 am to 3pm. Maybe to sort out those issues?

Reminiscent of the 2013 Nationwide Blackout, there are reports coming to hand that most parts of Trinidad are without Power.

Some areas affected are:
Port of Spain
Trincity
San Fernando
Sangre Grande
Moruga
San Juan
Cunupia
Penal

Powegen blaming NGC for the turbine shutting down due to low gas pressure. Seems to be resolved now though.

Invest in more solar technology or stuff like generators etc. The infrastructure will continue to age and the fix would continue to be patch/ratch work with bogus press releases.

I think a generator is a good idea. At least to keep fridge(s), a few lights, a fan or two in cases of extended outages.

Yep did a off grid system while back for home each room has a gen outlet, lights and outdoor also has perimeter lighting

Media Release: Disruption in Power on 22nd December, 2021

The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) notes that several areas throughout Trinidad experienced a brief disruption in power at approximately 11:27am on 22 nd December 2021.

NGC was conducting works at the Union Gas Receiving Facility on the Union Industrial Estate. During the activity, the supply of natural gas to Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) was temporarily disrupted.

NGC restored the natural gas supply to TGU within 30 minutes and the disruption was resolved at 12:15pm.

NGC remains committed to its customers and maintaining the integrity and reliability of its infrastructure.

Yes something went wrong in Bamboo Settlement and there was actually a power surge

There was a brownout in my part of piarco this afternoon. Thought power had gone but the TV was on and streaming and the ceiling fans had slowed down. Lasted less than a minute.

damn. good ting we have the tv, laptop, fridge, dishwasher all on surge protection or other voltage regulation devices. T&TEC like dey want to damage everything these days

Getting reports of power outages from people in Sando, couva, galeota, st James, Kelly, princes town , piparo, oropuche, penal, Maraval, Trincity
