My father has a friend who has a "girlfriend" for the past 15 years, he want's to get married with her and actually wants to have a child with her because he is the only son his parents has and they're constantly on his back to have a child - Not gonna happen though, just recently he was talking to me about how when he dies, his name gone
Must suck to be in his position though, I have a "brother", but he's adopted so he doesn't count. Is your last name being given up really a big deal to parents though?

its a old time days belief...my grandfather has 3 grandsons but love one more than the other 2 because he was the only one who carried his last name...its a pride or generation thing eg there is 6 generations of raj in the family, it may have more but only 6 have the last name
